In a leak for a potential new game called "Rayman Legends Retold", it was revealed that another game was possibly planned to be announced with Rayman Legends Retold called "Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition". According to a leak, it will be released on next-gen consoles based on a leak from a developer. On May 29th 2026, the game was shown on Xbox's store page with a placeholder price of $2000. The page was removed around 45 minutes afterwards, but it was complete with the game's box art, a description of the game, and a series of screenshots, some of which showed off new features. The description states that the game will feature 4K visuals, run at 60 frames per second, and feature new quality-of-life features, including 60 relics to collect, a feature that was once exclusive to the PlayStation Vita version of that game. Notably, the PSVita version featured 31 more relics than the amount that the description states that the game will feature. Two of the images feature new heart variants: one is a golden heart similar to the one featured in Rayman Fiesta Run, and another is a heart made out of ice. Another screenshot features Murfy as a controllable helper similar to his appearance in Rayman Legends, and yet another features a new photoboard design featuring Mr Dark, Raymesis, and scenery based on the final boss fight in the original Rayman game.

Reviewers praised Rayman Origins for its vibrant and detailed cartoon graphics, as well as its fittingly whimsical soundtrack. The gameplay was considered well-balanced, offering both an accessible experience for new players and a satisfying challenge for experienced ones. The decision to add co-operative multiplayer to the series was well-received. Criticism focused on the lack of a clear storyline in the game, and the chaotic nature of the gameplay when three or four people are playing simultaneously.
