Hi folks! You want to know what's going on? I'm RayGamer99, video game enthusiast and avid fan of the Rayman series.
You might know me for my exploits in another dimension as MarioMaker99.

My History with Rayman
My History with Rayman
I first discovered this limbless legend on my Amazon Fire tablet. They had two Rayman games on here: Rayman Jungle Run and Rayman Fiesta Run. The folks over at Amazon would later get rid of the latter game, making me sad, since, in my opinion, that one was the best of the two. But anyway, my young and curious self stumbled upon Rayman Jungle Run while I was looking for auto-running games, like Minion Rush, which I really liked back then. I was curious, and had lots of questions (mainly why the heck this guy doesn't have limbs), so I downloaded it. And BOY am I glad that I did. The cartoony graphics, art style, and characters were appealing to me, and it was fun getting every Lums and unlocking (and completing) every Land of the Livid Dead level. I downloaded Rayman Fiesta Run and had even more fun with it, due to its expanded roster of characters, its modernized art style, and its large amount of levels.

The folks over at Amazon would later get rid of the latter game; a most disappointing move since, in my opinion, that one was the better of the two. But anyway, my young and curious self stumbled upon Rayman Jungle Run while I was looking for auto-running games like Minion Rush, which I really liked back then. I downloaded Rayman Fiesta Run and had even more fun with it, due to its expanded roster of characters, modernized art style, and large amount of levels.

Later, I found out a select amount of Rayman games were on the PlayStation 2, which we owned. I was able to find Rayman Raving Rabbids (even though these days, I wish I would've gotten it on the Wii), Rayman Arena, Rayman 2 Revolution, and Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc at eStarland, which was near the church me and my family would go to. I had a blast with these games, and I still enjoy them to this day, despite me playing them less frequently these days.

A few years later, I would get a Wii for (I think?) Christmas. I was overjoyed, mainly because of the fact that I could now play games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, and Rayman Origins on this. Out of the Rayman and Rabbids games available on the system, I got Rayman Origins, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, and Rabbids Go Home. I didn't bother getting Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party because of Rayman's lack of appearances and playability in it. To this day, I still can't quite bring myself to call it a Rayman game.

A few more years later, I would get a Nintendo Switch, the console I had waited pretty much all of my life to get. For some reason, at the time, they only had one Rayman game on the Switch, but it quickly became my favorite: Rayman Legends Definitive Edition. I had wanted the game for years leading up to this, and my excitement was not in vain; this game was, dare I say it, legendary! From its stupendous soundtrack to its gorgeous graphics and challenging courses, just about everything about it was outstanding. For once, Ubisoft had outdid themselves. Even though I had gotten Rayman Legends Definitive Edition about five years after its release, I still felt that Rayman had a bright future ahead of him.

Unfortunately, I was wrong.

Very wrong.

For years, the only thing we'd hear from the franchise was a cameo, a new mobile game here or there, but no real news. Rayman felt dead, and it didn't seem like he'd be coming back anytime soon.

But then, IT happened.

A teaser during Ubisoft Forward 2022 had revealed that after years of absence, Rayman would return in a new DLC for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope (which, along with Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, is the only Rabbids game I have on the Switch right now). I was overjoyed, as I know the rest of the community was. The following year's Ubisoft Forward gave us some more footage of the DLC, and of Rayman's new design. In-game, it looked... interesting, to say the least. As of writing this (July 13, 2023), the DLC still hasn't released yet, but my anticipation is through the roof. I cannot wait to play this, and hopefully, this is just the beginning of Rayman's revival.

Update (September 24, 2023):
I have played Rayman in the Phantom Show (I finished it weeks ago), and I am blown away by how much effort was put into this. From Rayman's new design and his over-the-top expressions, to his Vortex and Shock Rocket combat fatigues making their glorious return, to the boatload of references scattered throughout the DLC, I feel that for the first time in 10 years (or, more specifically, for the first time since Rayman Legends), Ubisoft really cares about Rayman and his legacy. None of it would've been possible without the brilliant mind of Davide Soliani and the Rayman community. I have new hope for Rayman, and hopefully we will see Murfy in the long-awaited Rayman 4 in the coming years.

Update (November 2, 2023):

Sooooo... I'm angry.

You wanna know why?

Ubisoft has ruined Rayman. AGAIN.

While I have never (and likely will never) watched the new series Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, I am furious with how they depict Rayman in this show. From what I have read in his article that explains his lore in the show, Rayman (or should I say "Ramon") and the Rabbids apparently come from Dimension X and not the Glade of Dreams, and they depict Rayman as an alcohol-drinking, coke-snorting, machine gun-wielding, fascist-mouthed character. I am not happy with what they have done with our favorite eggplant. Not happy at all.

However, if Captain Laserhawk has taught me anything, it's that our work is not done yet. I thought that Rayman in the Phantom Show was a new beginning for Rayman, and with the right team, it still can be, but it seems that Ubisoft has taken a "one step forward, two steps back" approach with him, and I feel that we still have a long way to go before bringing Rayman back to his true former glory. We have laid the foundation for Rayman's big comeback, but in order to make sure something like this never happens again, we need to keep up the fight. I believe that Rayman can achieve better than this, and maybe in his next appearance, he will. Until then, Ubisoft needs to go back to the drawing board with Rayman to ensure that they don't make this huge mistake again.

Rayman Pirate-Community
I joined Rayman Pirate-Community on May 4, 2023 (quite the lucky day for Star Wars fans, currently not including me), and before this day, I would always use the RayWiki and RayTunes for information on the Rayman series and for music, respectively. I dreamt of joining this community and contributing, and on that day, I got my opportunity to.

I am proud to be part of this team of Rayman enthusiasts from around the world, and I will do what I can to contribute my knowledge to it so many more Rayman fans to come will have the information they need.

A few Rayman-related facts about myself
*The only Rayman merchandise I own (at the moment; my Rayman: The Board Game Legends pledge is on the way) is the Rayman Mégastickers book and an unofficial Rayman hoodie. I REALLY wish I could've picked up the collector's edition of L'Histoire de Rayman, as I am dying to see those Rayman Legends concept arts (how come no one has posted any images of them on the web yet?), but since that's gone from the face of the Earth, I guess that's not happening.
*I've concocted full Smash Bros movesets for Rayman and Globox, complete with Final Smashes, costumes, a stage, and music!
*I am a proud Rayman X Ly shipper.
**Speaking of the fan-favorite fairy, I still don't understand how Ly managed to get her own palace in Rayman Arena (or Rayman M), but some little gremlin kicked her out of the playable roster!
*Unlike many Rayman fans, I actually like the Rabbids (as long as they're not overshadowing Rayman; looking at you TV Party) and the UbiArt games.

*Revamp the Rayman Mini articles (complete!)
*Add images to the Rayman Legends articles (normal and invaded levels done!)
*Help out the Rayman in the Phantom Show articles by adding any references I find. (I think that’s done)
*Update the Rayman: The Board Game article with new information as it comes. When the game releases (and when I get my hands on it), upload information and images to the wiki. (In progress)
