Helped by [[Otto]] and [[Romeo]], he releases [[André]] from [[Globox]]'s body. With the others doctors, he advises [[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] to take [[the Longest Shortcut]] for reach [[André]] and [[Reflux]] and stop them invoking the [[Leptys]]. He makes his final appearance at the end of said level, whilst the other Doctor's inform Rayman and Globox that Reflux and André escaped, he offers them a boat to chase the villians. Whereas Otto has a notable German accent, and Romeo an American Surfer accent, Gonzo speaks with a distinctly Japanease accent, and even says "Globox-san" upon their first meeting ("san" is a term used by the Japanease to refer to a friend). Gonzo's calm nature and slanted eyes also contribute to his Japanease stereotype.

Gonzo is the last of the three teensie Doctor's to be introduced, not being mentioned until Rayman and Globox meet fellow doctor Romeo, almost 50% into the game. Romeo is unable to locate Globox's brain, where Andre has taken refuge, but tells the toad "I know a guy who can help you, he's like a specialist in hollow cavaties". He then activates a portal which takes Rayman and Globox to The Desert of the Knaaren, where Gonzo resides.

The treck through the desert is tricky for the two, as they are captured by the Knaaren and Rayman is forced to fight their champion, [[Reflux]]. Once Rayman overcomes this, however, he gains the respect of Knaaren king [[Gumsi]] and he and Globox are allowed safe passage to Gonzo's office.

Arriving at the office, Rayman and Globox find it under attack, typically, by Hoodlums. Rayman is unable to reach the Hoodlums due to a pit in the centre, but can use foot switches to bring pillars in the ceiling down upon them. Having crushed the Hoodlums, Rayman continues to meet Gonzo. Globox, however, does not wish to be treated by another teensie and tries to flee, only to be grabbed by one of the stars that hover around the office and dragged in to see Gonzo.

Gonzo hovers down from above Globox, and announces that he "knows how to drive out a negative energy" before tapping constantly on Globox's eyes with a stick. Andre then announces that he is "not coming out" as he is "not in the habit of obeying orders". Gonzo takes this as a challenge, announcing "let's see about that", and quickly summons Romeo and Otto, to perform group therapy. With Gonzo conducting, the trio perform a musical number that causes Andre to vacate Globox, although he quickly escapes.

When it becomes obvious that Andre and [[Reflux]] have decided to team up, Gonzo, along with Otto and Romeo, takes Rayman and Globox to show them a shortcut, which they can hopefully use to catch up with the two villians. Having explained this, the three doctor's vanish.

Gonzo makes one final appearance at the end of The Longest Shortcut. When Rayman and Globox reach the docks, Romeo and Otto tell them, somewhat unsympathetically, that Reflux and Andre escaped, and "The whole world's gonna go up in smoke dude!". Gonzo, however, offers the two a boat, with which to follow Reflux and Andre. Rayman accepts this offer and leaves. The three doctors are not seen again.
