I've just downloaded the game. It is based on modified R2's engine, yet not the same as final Rayman 3 was (bnm and apm files present). LVL and PTR files are fortunately the same as in R3 and I'm working on extracting level geometry from them. Concat Files are the same, but I tried converting GF ...

Ubisoft's game POD used an engine called "D3D" for the game. It was released in 1997.


Direct3D isn't an engine, but graphics API. It's nothing extraordinary - many games have used this API back then.

I'm doing it mainly because I want to improve my skills in reverse engineering, but I also always wanted to do something more to Rayman (editing levels, discovering secrets, you know).

I started making a decompiler for DSB scripts to understand game's structure better.

Actually I don't think that something especially useful would be found here.
One good think made with language files would be to joint all languages available from various releases
e.g. Polish with English. But it is also a little waste of time, and only matter of overwriting of the files.
