Alright here's my conclusion so me and Serz can end this (and Jewish Candy I guess), and basically my thoughts on this:
The conversation did start with the petition for GTA V, that ultimately, did get me incredibly upset to see that they succeeded in doing this, no matter what is portrayed in GTA, actually convincing the place to do that is just outright bullying. That is how it started, I brang up Anita with a jewish interpretation picture of her being greedy. As you can tell, with her recent actions, my hatred towards here have been lead to massive levels, the message she tried to convey was bad and not exactly how feminism should be viewed. I think people need to stop going all out and calling GTA V sexist to such an extent, sure it's not being portrayed positively, but people like those do exist. Now... I only got upset when you accused GTA V of having "blatant sexism", that's where the ball dropped for me. You asked why were so pissy about it, and I think it's a bit understandable, you see, I was only mad at these people who got the game off store shelves but I think that further evolved into a bigger portion, I was mad at all feminazis at this point since they were part of it, and ultimately that voice within the crowd was the most uproared voice of them all. This is why I often differentiate feminazis from feminists.
I guess I kept constantly bringing up Anita because for a majority of people as of recently people link directly to her when they hear feminism in games, look, I don't support death threats, ever, but whenever I see an article brung up and it has "poor girl being harassed" with her face on it, not telling the whole story of what REALLY happened, it bothers the shit out of me. And thus my anger for her began. So to admit, yes I did bring up Anita a little too much when really I only intended it to be once or twice. I just think what she's doing is outright crazy, and I've seen people support her claims, which saddens me. I just wanted to get that out of the way of what I was originally mad about.
However I guess I dragged the conversation into something else with the load uproar of the feminazis, because this isn't the way to do change. I brought that into the conversation which I guess was just a whole different topic on its own.
So I do think you brought a few valid points to the table Serz, the biggest problem I initially had was just the majority of feminazis who are really hurting the image of gamers, and you aren't that, I see that now.
However I do think feminists (the normal ones, lol) going such lengths to say GTA is blatant sexism and signing that petition should really be ashamed. You can be mad at it, yes, but now you're just outright ruining gaming for others (the ones who had it pulled from there store shelves), it's THIS kind of movement which I refer to which is completely unnecessary.
However I'm just speaking towards someone else, not you or Jewish Candy, anyways I pretty much dragged the argument into something else. I guess what ultimately happened is I viewed you as being no different from these other feminazis, and the problem began there. I don't disagree with your movement, but I do disagree if you actually think that petition was a good idea.
Personally I don't think constantly complaining about the portrayal will change Rockstar's mind about it, I get that's what you're trying to do, but I really don't think it will work, especially since this has been a massive topic lately, yet no game devs have took this into account... because they hardly even think of it.
I think the GTA V complaint was really unnecessary, I get GTA V allows you to kill prostitutes, but remember it's trying to portray an open world city, the option to kill them is well... optional.
I'm all for equality and I won't dismay anyone's opinion, my biggest gripe here is that people demanding change to game devs that truly work hard and some already live pretty stressful lives. I don't mind more woman protagonists, I don't mind men protagonists, I really think what it always boils down to is a likeable protagonist. Could there be more women? Of course there could, but I think the lengths people are going to really spread this message is only kind of 'scaring' off the devs in the end. Just to further differentiate a feminist and feminazi take a look at this:
A man who landed on the moon was ultimately shunned by a man for the shirt he was wearing (that a female friend made him), just to further prove my stance, these are the type of femi"nazis" I can't stand, who just have no respect or dignity.
I think wanting more female protagonists is perfectly fine, no problem with it at all, I just think the protesting is going a little too far. So ultimately, yes, I do agree with wanting to have more females is perfectly fine.
I think it's perfectly fine to not be happy about it but to view it as a 'major issue' is kind of crossing into something not good.
This was just my stance, or kind of a conclusion, if you do happen to disagree with anything let me know, and I do apoligise for my somewhat dickish behavior earlier.
It ends with this: I was viewing Serz the wrong way and somewhat misinterpreting her I guess.
