Nope. But I'll have tons of stuff to do. i took a look at the planning and I selected at first glance at least 15 events over the 4 days. And it should be even more.

Wow, that's amazing, actually. It's fun even if you don't know the game it's about. Is this one of Pentakill's?

There are a lot of references all around the video, making it even better for the usual players. Riot is probably gonna make something big for the finals in the Stadium.
Shrooblord wrote:Is this one of Pentakill's?
Even better : This is Imagine Dragons, known worldwide. And that's even crazier. Rumors are running abotu a potential live performance at the finals, kinda like what The Crystal Method did last year. And they are not as known as ID.
Shrooblord wrote: Hey, saer, did you see this one already?
Yes I did: I started following pro play a lot during S3 (Starting with S2 Grand Finals. IEM Katowice was probably the one which made me stick to watching the pro scene, as so many things happened during this tournament. Let's just talk about the infamous xPeke's Kassadin move, and Moscow5/Gambit crushing the two best teams of Korea at that time in semi and finals after getting out of the group stage with a time tiebreaker match).

This video shows the most famous players of each region playing the champion they are the most known for: Alex Ich on Kha'Zix, Meteos on Zac, Scarra on Gragas, Gogoing on Kennen, MadLife on Blitzcrank, Dyrus on Jayce...I'm probably forgetting a lot of players from Asia as it's hard to follow every single region professionnally. Fortunately LCS are going to change their format to follow the Korean style, which would make for shorter regular season, longer playoffs, and make the spring season matter for more than a simple sport at All Stars like this year.

What amazes me is the rate at which Riot Games is improving every year in the game and on the international scene. Who would have thought the finals would take place in a Soccer World Cup stadium this year? Who would have thought about all the game modes we had this year? And now the real story of Shurima is out, at the same time as the WC.

I enjoy playing as Fiora a lot. She's quite a delicate rose; without good defensive abilities and basically no escape, if CC'ed or caught on the enemy side of the lane, she's pretty much screwed. But as you know, a rose has thorns! She builds up crazy damage with her passive AD scaling from levelling up her W, making her able to gain about 15-30 AD on her enemy while remaining in lane. This is nuts in the early game and gives you quite a scary power spike. Since her patch rework in 4.20, your ult is now more of a single target nuke too, which is what you'd generally use it for to begin with - epic! More buffs to your solo lane play style. Her E gives her an insane attack speed steroid, finishing off that pesky enemy laner or killing his tower on a roam within seconds.

The most fun thing about Fiora? Well, bar the (fake) French accent, her W's active ability: Riposte. Fiora counters the next basic attack, including ability-enhanced basics like Gangplank's Parrrley and a Teemo's Blinding Dart - if I recall correctly, even a nasty Nasus Q. She takes no damage and in return deals magic damage scaling with your AP. Now, it's a bit sad that I don't recommend building any AP-related items for her, as that really is the only benefit she gains from it. If they'd increase her Attack Speed scaling from her E by an AP percentage, we could talk... maybe talk Guinsoo's Rageblade, even. In any case, when laning against nasty ranged champions like Quinn or Vayne in top lane, all you need to do is sit by your tower passively (or if they know how to freeze lane well, close enough to the wave that you can still gain xp and a little gold here and there but not so close that you're endangering your own survival) and wait for them to think they can kill you. Depending on the time in the game and how well you've been able to get in that xp range, you can Q in to dash towards them, E for a couple of quick hits, counter their retaliating attack and ult them right after to apply those sweet life-stealing on-hit effects to regain your health while you melt theirs. And if you're still under friend the Tower, he'll help out too!

Oh yeah, and don't get me started on how fun it is to confuse the hell out of enemy towers by ulting right under them.

That concludes my review on Fiora. Hope you enjoyed the read!

Oh yeah, I did enjoy the read. Plus Fiora is a champion I'm not playing that much.

It's more than that: you block basic attacks and abilities triggering on-hit effects. Ezreal's Q is blocked by Fiora's ability here. Same thing for Nasus' Q or Jax's E.
So, it seems that now Fiora's laning phase is a bit better, and that in teamfights her ult wrecks faces a bit less (cuz' the R/Hydra combo is just so annoying, and you can't do shit about it because she is invulnerable). Nice to hear. Well, if you are not playing against someone like this pesky Yorick.
Shrooblord wrote:Oh yeah, and don't get me started on how fun it is to confuse the hell out of enemy towers by ulting right under them.
I hate that when playing against Fiora: you can't escape her even under tower, even with flash, even with everything if she ulties you (aside from being Shen and ulting a friend somewhere on the map XD).

Oh yeah, did you try Fiora top with Smite? I think it's like Warwick at the moment.

Now that you are talking putting this topic back on track, I will talk about a big change since 4.20 (wait, is this 4.20? blaz...ok it has been done millions of times but come on, you only get one shot :)): Jungle!

a) New camps hit like stupid. Okay, they should prevent s4-like jungle styles and force junglers to make choices, but they are hitting a bit too hard in my opinion: now most champions have a hard time clearing only one camp and one buff. Shyvana is not even playable here :D. For almost any champion, you will have to design a specific rune page to be a correct jungler.
b) Like said Foxdrop, some monster buffs have a significantly higher importance than others. Birds' true vision is OP: not only for early pressure, but also for the 10-second oracle effect. It gives you a massive amount of control around baron if you have a few teammates with you. You can sweep the hell out of the entire pit if you couple it with a lens and a pink ward. In comparison, Wolves' is very situational (like Golem's). I like the blue/red smite-for-fight mechanics though: need heal/mana to win a skirmish? Smite dat big dude and get a triple kill!

c) Good champions to play there:
1) Warwick: No wonder why he's perma banned in draft and ranked. He's even more than Kassadin was in his prime time. Dude sustains easy in jungle and gets a big spike from red jungle item+devourer. When you know that Riot nerfed his ult's CD because they knew he was going to be OP, he's still OP.
2) Fiddlestick: My main, second best jungler, lel. No subjectivity there: sustain champions own the jungle today. Simply drain the big monster, and you are fine. Crows second is good for teamfight control and jungle clear speed, it seems. Birds' buff also gives Fiddle a nice vision-denying tool, which is very important for him so he can land his ulti and surprise-party with dem opponents. >:D.
3) Udyr: no trick2g in this. This guy can shield himself and recover health/mana with turtle stance in the jungle. He benefits heavily from devourer as he is very auto-attack reliant, giving him a big big big power spike. Aside from that, he deals more damage than most junglers nowadays (Kha'zix and Lee Sin are not as good as before for obvious reasons, the first because of Spirit Stone having disappeard, the second for that plus nerfs to his armor/attack damage).
4) Pantheon: His passive enables him to block the most important attack coming from the jungle, the big monster's one. Couple that with the golem's buff and you can clear the entire jungle in one run. Today, it's almost become a dream. It also comes in handy for a very early drake where you don't take a lot of damage with your passive, once again.
5) Vi: Same as Pantheon, she has a good shield, although it's not up as much as his'. Her denting blows is also a bit better for clear speed as it reduces armor in %, meaning that now monsters were buffed, she deals more damage to them with it when compared to other champions.
6) Amumu: He will always be there. Riot nerfed his W in early jungle clear to avoid him being OP though. Still clearing fast these days, especially since his damage is not that nerfed as he can proc even more Es for one camp.

I'm playing Pantheon a lot these days. This guy hits like a truck with the ganking smite+warrior. He won't be easy to deal with in S5.

Not entirely true. Get a Zhonya's and you're fine. Also, I've been hit and disabled before while mid-ult. People who know exactly how to deal with Fiora can still take her out just as easily as before.

Yes I did and yes it is. It's so dirty.

If you enjoy watching Foxdrop, you should see his latest Pantheon full game commentary. He cleared a dragon without taking any damage whatsoever. Nuts! NUTS I SAY

*Bump*

Season 5 has begun!

New map, new smites, new champs, new skins...and new strats!

Going into my placement matches right now...5-3 so far. Seems I'm not a good DuoQ player, as I lost all my games in DuoQ with friends, but my SoloQ journey have been compensating good enough.

With my friends, we also tried the full Teleport/Smite strategy. In Season 5, it's actually a pretty good strat as long as you ban all the OP 1v1 champs (Riven and Tryndamere mostly). You just do both of your double buffs, push mid, take turret at 4/5 mins, then do drake everytime it respawns. With last patch, it's also great to do baron at 20 mins. Smite is just so good anyway (as enchantments).

Core champions you run for this "troll" setup:
- Azir
- Heimerdinger

Azir and Heimerdinger are the best champs for this kind of comp because as long as you are safe with those two, you can be very aggressive and push non-stop. They are also INSANE objective takers: endgame, they can take baron while being two (and that's not an easy task: baron actually doesn't focus turrets but the closest champion).

After these two picks, we tried a few others, complementing the core duo with a bit more waveclear, along with some nice CC, AD, and durability. Here they are!

- Sivir
- Varus
- Morgana
- Lux
- Cassiopeia
- Kayle

With Sivir, the team is very mobile for engage/disengage. With Varus, the CC-ultimate is great for our skillshot-oriented setups. We always played with at least one pick-up each time, and they got along very well with the team (or left during pre-game lobby).

Of course, it requires a good cordination between players so it can be effective (and you have to know how to play your champ). But the randomness of fights gave us some very epic moments, as I was able to record one game with Action!. The best moment is surely the Rocket-Nuke for a friend of mine playing Heimy (on the ADC, of course). I can also mention the almost-two-men baron with AP squishies (lel).

That's it for today!
