Re: Rayman 1
Not bad, but Ray's eyes seem to have merged into a single entity.

It's literally in its native resolution at 640x480 in the picture, though.Raymanarenaps2 wrote:With my new PC I was able to upscale the Rayman Ubisoft logo to make it look HD-ish.
Bellow is a link to where I uploaded the pic.

it looks nice
By comparison, this is how my external upscaler just processes it by default:

Re: Rayman 1
Just saying, I think you should record the UbiSoft logo seperatly and deinterlance it properly as only this little section is on 480i.

Re: Rayman 1
What do you mean? The upscaler already deinterlaces it perfectly (the jittering is inherent to the signal itself and I can't bypass the upscaler's deinterlacing anyway), and detects the rest as native 240p.emshomar wrote:Just saying, I think you should record the UbiSoft logo seperatly and deinterlance it properly as only this little section is on 480i.
It's also just a logo, wut.

Ah fuk. Well can't you still try to smooth this little section on post editingtechnology4617 wrote:the jittering is inherent to the signal itself and I can't bypass the upscaler's deinterlacing anyway

Re: Rayman 1
That would take me an additional 1-2 hours of editing, re-encoding, and uploading to make a ten-second developer logo less jittery, though. Even SDA isn't that strict.emshomar wrote:Ah fuk. I was also only posting it here for purposes of comparison anyway.
EDIT: I played the GBA version of this and things happened.

Re: Rayman 1
Wow, very nice! How long did it take you to get that working?
Re: Rayman 1
thanks ^^ on the 23nd i started searching for the map data and on the 3rd i had them figured out.
there should be more stuff we can visualize for that (like the hitboxes possibly). and i have to fix the issues with fast camera movements as well.

So, I'm no speedrunner, but recently I've been watching Adsolution on skype do some really fucking neat techniques for Rayman 1 that he got from Technology on here, I'm very fascinated by these tricks, especially with the small speedrunning community for R1... the whole 'tethering' trick I never knew about either until just recently!

Re: Rayman 1
You're misusing that term as well, lel. ;P (Tethering is the thing where you extend the tether to gain more speed/height, whereas frootlooping is the thing where you hold up or down when jumping off the ring. Adoslution makes that mistake often.)Rayfist wrote:the whole 'tethering' trick I never knew about either until just recently!
But, yeah, glad you like all the new tech; I think it's awesome, I have to try and PB soon. There's a chance Rayman might be getting on SDA soon as well.

I would like to contribute to this highly intellectual thread with THIS
I have too much freetime. So have a video of me summarizing Rayman.

Re: Rayman 1
That looks a surprising amount like a mesh between the Rayman 1 and 2 styles.

Ah yes, the face is R1, but his torso has more of an R2 vibe to it.
Re: Rayman 1
Wonder how to pull off a tether boost…
Re: Rayman 1
That pencil sketch was already present in L'Histoire of Rayman but it is nice that they shared.
