Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros. - VOTE Rayman

It sounded like a Canadian reference to me...
But well. WELL. This looks likelier by the, uhm, hour(?). Pretty gosh darn exciting!

(no Rayman is not a mammal that is a specific terrestrial clade he may share some characteristics with mammals but that doesn't make him one especially considering all the areas of diversion and in any case the point is that he doesn't have natural eyebrows)

This is just... too perfect... seriously the best thing that'll ever happen in gaming, for me. But what if they ruin the moveset? There's a huge possibility that the moveset will only consist in Origins/Legends stuff. I'm REALLY hoping for lots of references to old games though, because that's what Smash is really about - a "game history library".... or something like that. One move that I REALLY want to see, is like in Rayman 3, you'd be able to run and charge your fist at the same time. If you think it's too over powered, then make it less powerful. I just want to shoot those fists like Fox' blaster. ......It's propably going to be just what the charge move is in Origins/Legends...... I think that one would make a great Smash Attack, though.
Also, I REALLLLY hope we'll get at least one track from each game. And we should NOT even think about if the moveset and the presentation would be bad.... because this is seriously a miracle....... but at the same time...... what if they ruin it..... gawd danmnm it......

Hmm, given Rayman's pose is definitely inspired from where it all began, should this turn out to be true, it is highly likely that the whole of the series will see some attention.

Moveset-wise, I think the RO/RL way makes sense, it's the most fighter-like from the series, and works pretty well with the established Smash fighting techniques.

Sakurai also used classic pose for Pac-Man too. And yeah. If Rayman ended up in Smash, that will finally prove that he is not some worthless third party character but a mascot that can compeat with Mario and Pac-Man. Next thing we need - HD remake of Rayman 1. I don't care if they use this design and not R1 design, I just wanna see it.

Meh, I don't know if Ubi will go that far, but seeing as Rayman's 20th is this year, maybe, who knows?

Presently though, I'd be happy to see Michel himself get the rights to Rayman, to do with as he pleases. For the most part, Ubi's not a company I have much confidence in these days.

Agreed. Though I doubt Michel will be returning to Rayman anytime soon, he's got other priorities.
As for the 20th, I'm just expecting a lil' half-assed port of some sort. Probably of Rayman 2. You know, the usual.

If they want to do porting, at least they should include on Wii U disc, Rayman 1, Rayman 2 (Dreamcast) and Rayman 3

Well, if the 10th Anniversary is anything to go by, I'd say a compilation release would be on the money.

Oh please, not a nth compilation.

I think that's a unanimous sentiment, but given how things have been, it might very well be.

I'm taking this like a grain of salt for now.
Normally I would, but given how these leaks have been, I've allowed myself to hope a little.

It more than likely will be compilation no matter if we like it or not. Thats just how Ubi does things.

If anything at all, I mean, isn't 25 a better number for an anniversary edition?

Please let an amiibo appear in future in case this turns out to be real. Knowing that all SSB characters that own amiibos do the exact pose of the character selection artwork, we would have a Rayman doing the R1 cover pose. It would be damn cool. I would do anything inside the possible to visit FNAC in the release to ensure my own figure.

If Rayman's addition to SSB is Ubisoft's surprise for the 20th Anniversary of the franchise, it is an unexpected and excellent surprise for the fans!

UPDATE: Ubisfot confirmed that on Tuesday the company will make a statement regarding this.
