I'd love to see an Arena 2, heck, I'd think it'd make a fine side mode for a mainstream title too.
Re: Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros.
A Rayman M/Arena 2 would be interesting but very unlikely to happen.

Maybe including a henchman 800 theme remix :O
Re: Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros.
Maybe some Rayman spin-off game with Legends artstyle happens. And not like Android runner genre but a console title that is online multiplayer and competitive.

Especially with those reviews... ú_ùHaruka wrote:A Rayman M/Arena 2 would be interesting but very unlikely to happen.
While I kinda find frustrating that you just won't deal with the fact that Rayman isn't and won't be in Smash... I'm overjoyed by the idea that you'll still be there to make an ass out of yourself. Can't wait for the next fake news. I think the point is that we can't know for sure. I was almost certain there was going to be an Xbox One/PS4/PC release of GTA V at some point whereas many others didn't, and I ended up being right. I highly, highly doubt Rayman will make it into Smash at this point, but who knows.

To be fair, if someone keeps expecting DLC from Smash Bros, that's because they haven't followed the development process of the game and don't know how Masahiro Sakurai works.
Sakurai is the kind of guy who takes a project, rocks everyone's world, then moves on. Take for example Kid Icarus Uprising. Can you believe it? how amazing it is for Nintendo to have revived another franchise in the most awesome and ambitious way possible!...err... nope, we're not having another one for the next 25 years. Why? because Sakurai has more stuff to do and doesn't want to expand on stuff that he already made good.
Not only that... the guy has serious muscular problems in his right arm right now, which makes it impossible for him (and therefore, his crew) to keep working on the franchise.
How can we expect more DLC? Sakurai's even said that he'll barely work on fixing balancing issues.
Re: Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros.
Sorry to inform you but the only person that makes an ass out of himself here is you. So far you made biggest deal out of this and showed how hard you take when someone doesn't think like you do.sergiomonty wrote:While I kinda find frustrating that you just won't deal with the fact that Rayman isn't and won't be in Smash... How many times he said no new Kirby? We still get new ones. He said Melee is last game, he then said Brawl will be last game and guess what? He made another one. The truth is, Sakurai sometimes does even what he doesn't want to as long as fan demand is big. Only reason why Mewtwo DLC is happening is because of fans. While Rayman DLC might not happen (or it might does happen if fake leaker results massive demand for real deal), if Mewtwo DLC sells good and if people demand more characters, he will end up doing it.

Oh, what? This deal is not related to your hopes of Rayman being in Smash. It's quite the opposite. Having him in Smash would be incredibly awesome.OldClassicGamer wrote: Sorry to inform you but the only person that makes an ass out of himself here is you. The only problem that I have with you is that you discredited a man's talent, accused him of being a liar, and placed him in an scenario where he could get sued. Just because of a freaking fanart.
What was your excuse for not changing your mind on him? The fact that you were in denial with the fake Rayman reveal.
Why didn't you believe that this guy has talent? Probably the most idiotic reason I've ever read from you: Because he doesn't have more than 1000 subscribers on Youtube and you believe that he wants to pretend to have talent with his "lies".
In the worst case, you suddenly believed that the guy does actually have the talent to "replicate official artwork" in just one freaking day.
Because, of cooooourse, with such deadline, it's easy for any artist to replicate this:
You're the man.
You say it like it was his choice to suffer from calcific tenditis.OldClassicGamer wrote: You do realize every time Sakurai says he won't do something he does it?
Sure, during the Brawl era, he stated that he wouldn't make another Smash Bros game because he thought that his development team reached the limits of the franchise. However, this time it's not just for the sake of sass. Things are getting pretty medical, man. He seriously can't handle the pain anymore. At this point, I can't help but wonder which types of games is he going to develop... if he's not retiring, of course.

Man, that picture is so awesome. The eyebrows kinda kill it though. I wonder if someone could perhaps edit them out, or replace them with blonde ones. Any takers?
Re: Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros.
I never did question his talent and I even stated that he is very talented. However for reasons I already stated before, I thought he was trying to fool others for lulz into thinking he created it while it was real leak. He should have just made everything like a lot earlier, put videos on private, reveal them only after 4chan leaks and then everyone would see original upload date when it was on private and then I would have no reasons to doubt at him. Ubisoft's delay in making statement made it seem like they have something planned so thats why I was doubting at him. I never said it is easy to replicate, but it is not impossible.sergiomonty wrote:Oh, what? This deal is not related to your hopes of Rayman being in Smash. It's quite the opposite. You're the man.
Regarding 1000 subscribers statement, all I said was that he was pretty much internet nobody before this since he barely had 200 subscribers and I thought he is perhaps using this leak to make himself more popular. Well it did work since he became famous on YouTube over a day.
I never said that, all I said is that Sakurai ends up doing many things he denies that he will do. It is sad that the suffers from calcific tenditis but thats not something new and he had that for a longer time. I am not saying that he should make stuff and DLC non stop but my point was that if there is demand, he will most likely do it.sergiomonty wrote:You say it like it was his choice to suffer from calcific tenditis.
I repeat that only reason why Mewtwo DLC is happening is because of demand. He originally never planned to include him in new game.
There are many other people who work with Smash too. I perfectly understand Sakurai's condition but he is not only person who works there. He can for example be supervisor while someone else does main thing regarding future Smash 4 updates, patches, DLC, ect and new games.sergiomonty wrote:Sure, during the Brawl era, he stated that he wouldn't make another Smash Bros game because he thought that his development team reached the limits of the franchise. Regarding Kid Icarus, while he did state he won't make new game till 25 years later, that doesn't mean new Kid Icarus game won't come in next 5 years for example. I repeat again that he said many times there won't be new Kirby game and there always is. Even if he is not main person working on game, new games happen and same case can be for Kid Icarus.

Re: Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros.
Looking at the image, still pretty upsetting it's fake especially with how real it looks. I fear Rayman is never coming to Smash, I think they made huge acceptions with few characters. Snake was only included in Brawl because Kojima begged, and he's likely never returning. Pac-Man and Megaman I believe were only included due to the fact that these guys have been around since the NES days. I don't think Nintendo's going to double dip with the third party as they've fooled around with it enough probably. Regardless though, kudos to the guy who made the fake image, holy shit he got me badly.
Re: Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros.
Ubisoft isn't ready to beg for Rayman it seems:
https://twitter.com/Ubisoft/status/568006094980812800
Conclusion:
Kojima does what he is determined to do while Ubisoft constantly fucks up. I bet if Rayman Legends stayed Wii U exclusive without delays things would be different.
Ubisoft, just give Rayman to Ancel along with BG&E so I can finally stop caring for your Assassin's Creed Milking factory. Rayman is pretty much only reason why I support Ubisoft these days (and BG&E if they released second one already but they are just gonna delay it for the next 5 years I can bet).

Re: Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros.
I'm a bit on the fence with Ubisoft... I would prefer to see Rayman in other hands but I think that him being in the hands of Ubisoft isn't as awful as we think. Think of it this way, he could've been in the same fate as Crash Bandicoot right now with activision... imagine that.
Other than Ass Creed I think Ubisoft has some pretty alright games, I enjoy Far Cry, really want to play a Prince of Persia game one day, and Splinter Cell looks fun.
I also highly doubt Rayman Legends staying exclusive to Wii U would have anything to do with the situation. MGS has had only ONE exclusive game to a Nintendo console (A remake of MGS1), so maybe that's why he got in.

Re: Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros.
I won't deny that Ubi have extremely talented developers, it's their management of things that irks me. Be that with things like Uplay, the RL Wii U fiasco, AC Unity and Watch Dog's own gaffes and so on and so forth. While you're right in saying that it's a far more gentle fate in comparison to Spyro's and Crash's, I'd be happy to see Rayman move from Ubi's hands to someone who we know can use the series competently and effectively.
That being said, I don't want Rayman in Nintendo's hands, I love their games, but Rayman's style and mythos doesn't suit them, and platform exclusivity isn't something I'd be happy to see with Rayman.

Re: Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros.
@Rayfist
But if Rayman was in full ownership of Michel Ancel, how could Crash situation happen? Ancel is original creator. He wouldn't butcher his own creation. Situation with Crash is that original owners lost ownership of him and that he has been butchered by many different studios afterwards. If only Ancel had control over it and fully decided about Rayman it would be best thing to happen to franchise since Origins.
It has been hinted by Ancel himself that Rayman was supposed to "fight against Mario" and Mario and Luigi skins are also in Legends. I think during partnership times, Ubisoft and Nintendo made a deal that Ubisoft can use something Mario related in Legends and that they can use something Rayman related in any Nintendo game. After Ubisoft betrayed Nintendo with both delay and multiplatform release, Nintendo wasn't happy about it but still had to respect deal they made. But instead of Rayman being playable, they just added him as a trophy. This is just my theory and there is not enough evidence but due to Ancel pointing "fight against Mario" during interview which was made before RL was multiplatform, I have some reasons to believe. If anyone has any contact with Ubisoft employee (no Twitter support or any of that bullshit but a trusted individual) it would help a lot.

@Master
Fully agreed. I don't think Rayman and Nintendo would work so well. And I honestly think Nintendo has enough platformers as it is.

I don't get how Ubisoft betrayed them I'm incredibly glad it went third party, it's very likely Legends would have sold HORRIBLY if it were Wii U exclusive, very smart move on Ubi's part.OCG wrote: Ubisoft betrayed Nintendo with both delay and multiplatform release

Re: Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros.
I'm agreed in having Rayman Legends multiplat, though I can't say I agreed with their delaying the Wii U version as a consequence, especially seeing as that delay pushed it to the same time period as the likes of GTA V.
Re: Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros.
Well, I never said I am not glad it went third party but I am sure Nintendo didn't like that game they expected to be only on Wii U ended up on rival consoles. So while it was good news for Rayman fans, Nintendo still was betrayed.Rayfist wrote:I don't get how Ubisoft betrayed them I'm incredibly glad it went third party, it's very likely Legends would have sold HORRIBLY if it were Wii U exclusive, very smart move on Ubi's part.OCG wrote: Ubisoft betrayed Nintendo with both delay and multiplatform release
As for sales, I actually think many people boycotted game because of delay so it would sell better if it wasn't delayed.

Re: Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros.
Surprised I missed this
People enjoy Project M because quite frankly it's a more competitive and more challenging, but rewarding game.
I've played the game a lot through an emulator, a lot of those who played Brawl were slightly disappointed by its mechanics. Despite having a nice line up of characters, Brawl truly was an unbalanced game with hardly much skill required. Project M was not made in spite of Brawl at all, it was made for those who wanted a different more competitive experience. And it worked out. And just because P:M was geared more towards the competitive crowd, does not mean you can still host parties. If anything I'd say the creators of Project M have been doing a brilliant job lately, have you seen what they did in the recent update? The 64 Smash stages were given a total overhaul and redesign.
Disagreeing with you big time here mate, first off, your console DOES not even need to be modded to play Project M. The creators of Project M are very anti piracy, and a copy of Brawl is needed to play. No modding is required. Just an SD card and a computer.Pirez wrote:~~~ UNPOPULAR OPINION INCOMING !!! ~~~
People need to stop about Project M. The whole premise of its existence is because butthurt pros went all "wah wah, Brawl is not Melee". But that's not the issue : in order to play it, you have to alter your console. And if you fuck up, your console is mostly dead at it's somehow Nintendo's fault (I've read that maybe a million times). That's a lot to risk just because Brawl is not enjoyable by the 1% since it's not Melee.
