I know that... but I'd rather have a fully 3D Mario game personally similar to Galaxy, only maybe minus the planets. They've already got something really good going on with the physics and engine of Galaxy, they just need to port that to HD and make something like it for Wii U.

I see what your wanting, but in no way does 3D World feel rushed. It's very polished from gameplay to presentation. And in addition, it's very fun and enjoyable. I even remember saying I wouldn't mind, and to an extend I would love to see, the Rayman devs try and make a game similar to 3D world. Especially with the four player co-op, I think Rayman can easily pull it off. It would be interesting to see how they can take the Origins/Legends play style and transition it into 3D.

Probably not rushed, but it's certainly feels like a downgrade. Do you think they'll be a 'REAL' 3D Mario game for the system? I wonder.
Anyways, I do kind of understand what OCG says about continuing the Legends/Origins style for a trilogy, and yeah, that makes sense. Though I would like to see something a little different in the art style if they were to do it.

It's reasonable to assume that the next game's gonna be the third in the Origins/Legends series as this formula is incredibly successful. However I think maybe making a third one is pushing it, unless they can actually offer something new. I really am hoping for a 3D game, but unfortunately 3D platformers aren't really on the market anymore so it maybe a risky move for them to go in that direction. I'm fine with 2D but I honestly wouldn't want to see another Origins/Legends style game.

You don't want a new experience like each game in the series has thus far provided? You should go work for Ubisoft.CHRdutch wrote:I hope it will be something like Rayman 3 :O

Beware your statement. For the video game, especially at the artistic level, the RO/RL is a success, but Ubisoft admitted it hasn't had as much success as a few other franchises. Are they to blame to say that when franchsies like Assassin's Creed have been working WAY better for them than the new Rayman style?Isen Degard wrote:It's reasonable to assume that the next game's gonna be the third in the Origins/Legends series as this formula is incredibly successful.
Because commercially-speaking, RO/RL has had a less important success than the Rabbids so far...and Rabbids are not very appreciated by a lot of experienced gamers. Does it mean it's a failure?
For the 6th Rayman game, I personnally think that a 3D game is the better option, although a 2D-ish style would still be okay. But in my opinion, RL was a near-perfect use of their engine capabilities and a near-perfect success for what its content was meant to be. Another game like this would possibly be less impressive than its predecessors, and I think Ubisoft should try out new stuff about Rayman franchise...but yeah, there is BG&E2 in the way for now.

I didn't mean: "I want a carbon copy of Rayman 3"Adsolution wrote:You don't want a new experience like each game in the series has thus far provided? You should go work for Ubisoft.CHRdutch wrote:I hope it will be something like Rayman 3 :O
I meant it like: Long game, 3D, comical, charming graphics, charming characters and a nice story line. The formula works really well and Rayman 3 is still my favourite Rayman game to date.
I won't say no to Rayman 4 though...

I have mixed feelings if we'll ever have a 3D Rayman game or a proper Rayman 4. With decreasing sales on Rayman Origins and Legends (from what I've heard), the chances of getting either of the two is about 5%. In other words, I don't really see the possibility of a new Rayman game in development. Unless it'll go with the same formula of RO and RL.
But what if they work on a 3D Rayman 2 spin-off? A Rayman 2 what-if spin-off game we get to play as a villain (and female) who's sent on a mission to find the four masks before Rayman does? That would be pretty awesome in my opinion. But I'm pretty sure your opinion would differ.

Oh fuck you! Go have sex with your midget wife, Tily.Imco wrote:No please!Bradandez wrote:Yes. We can get 3D Barbara wife.
I think the Rayman Devs should make a 3D World like game. Have it play like a 2D Rayman game, but in a 3D plane. That way they can do something they're familiar with while also trying out something new.

Or you know, make it a fully 3D game like:

I'd actually love to see them attempt free roaming and kind of go a bit for a collect-a-thon route perhaps.

Although I feel the linear nature of Rayman 2 and 3 worked very well, this could be interesting.Rayfist wrote:I'd actually love to see them attempt free roaming and kind of go a bit for a collect-a-thon route perhaps.
I don't know about that, I mean a game where Rayman is not the main character would pretty much present itself as a new IP. Yeah I know it's still in the Rayman universe and all, it's just to most of the outside community the only recognisable thing about the Rayman series is... well Rayman. If you take that away I don't know if it would work. Although from a fan's perspective that would make for an interesting game and would expand the universe of the series! I just don't think Ubisoft would invest in the idea though.Indy wrote:A Rayman 2 what-if spin-off game we get to play as a villain (and female) who's sent on a mission to find the four masks before Rayman does?
