The first recipient has already started reading their PM! Happy, happy! Let me post ASAP whatever it is Shrooblord will have communicated with me to start himself off... that is, here is his starting equipment:
Shrooblord wrote:Armour: Shining Armour from the Dawn of Pantries (Armour Class II)
Weapon: Two-Week Old Baguette (Broadsword Class I)
Enchanted gear: None
Consumables:

  • 3x Health Potion Mk. II
  • 2x Strength Tonic Mk. I
Gold Total: 90
Note that I purposefully put Shrooblord's starting equipment here as an example - you do not need to share what you buy with the rest of the party - that's up to you. Secrets are yours to share or keep as you please.

I look forward to starting this season off soon! I am now updating the rules post with information on equipment - stand by.

PS

Looks like some of you are slightly confused about how to interact with the shop. Let me give you an example of how Shrooblord bought his gear.
Shopkeeper wrote: Your proposed purchase will cost you an amount of gold as listed below:
Purchase:
  • Armour Tier II - 150 G
  • Melee Broadsword weapon Tier I - 105 G
  • 3x Health Potion Tier II - 105 G
  • 2x Strength Tonic Tier I - 50 G
Inventory gold total: 500
Total purchase cost: 410
====================================
Inventory gold remaining: 90
Are you okay with the proposed transaction?
Shrooblord replied with "Yes!" and received the inventory as he has it listed above.

Prices of weaponry and consumables are not set in the shop. There's a price range for certain tiers, but judging on the type of weapon (versatility, risk to the user, range or no, enhancement of skillset, weapon mastery requirement), the weapon's price within that tier varies heavily. The most basic melee weapon (something rodlike like a club) will cost far less than a magic staff forged out of the hourglass ridge of the splitting dimensional vortexes that has a built-in microwave option.

PPS
Updated interaction rule with the Director:
8) When replying to the Director, please make sure at least '[[RPG]]' remains in the subject header. That causes all PMs related to this thread to get sorted into a nifty little inbox of its own.

Before the game proper starts, I have a question about intra-party interactions, or intractions if you prefer. May we use this thread for public discussion and conversation as well as turns, or should anything non-turn-like be limited to PMs only? It's not entirely clear in your description what you were going for.

Certainly, you can talk here. But with deception and treachery afoot, you may want to seclude yourself to your PM safe zones...! But that's all up to you.

If you do talk non-RPG talk here, please be sure to clearly mark what is in character and what is not.
For example:
Shrooblord wrote:OOC: Crap a shadow the size of a house? I smell dragon! Sadly, my character has the perception of a donkey's behind.

IC:
Shrooblord feels a slight breeze as a large cloud passes over or something. Whatever.
OOC (out of character) and IC (in character) are useful tags to distinguish one sort of text from the other. That's easier on me (the Director) and fellow roleplayers.

Thanks for highlighting that, Cand. Updated the rules to include this.

EDIT

Hello folks! Sign-up has long since closed and we're all getting ready to start the game. However, a new challenger joins the fray! Normally I wouldn't allow late-comers just as we were wrapping up the PREGAME, but there were a number of reasons that made me decide otherwise.

Since Brad wanted to drop out and also because I had promised him an RP game a long time ago, I'd like all of you to welcome Hoodcom as your new party member!

Here's his stats:

Reese, you're a bright one. You know the world of magic like the back of your hand. Better than the back of your hand. Where's your hand? Oh yes, fire spell. Right. It's okay. You know another chant to grow a new one. You are a young boy still, and as such your constitution is pretty bad, but you're a tough nut to crack. It'll take quite some force to bring you low, but persistent poking damage will be the end of you! So position yourself well, my boy. You're not strong enough to properly handle a sword and your people skills are so terrible you'd probably snap at anyone who'd try to explain to you how to do it, too. You can talk your way out of anything, though. Your hands are nimble and tactile, racing across the materials with fine control over tools and supreme mastery of the magick arts. You are a spellcaster revered throughout the land! But people always seem to lose track of you... it's not your swiftness of foot. Hell no, it's not your swiftness of foot. Rather, you seem to blend in with your surroundings. You do it well.

OOC: Oh wow, this sure seems like a lot, with exams and all
Meh, as complicated as this is, I will try to carefully read all the rules, and pms, but I can't ensure I'll be very active these first two weeks

OOC:

Damn, why am I always away when something like this is happening? xD

I hope you have a good set of "Excel" (dunno the equivalent for it on Mac) sheets to keep track of all them stats. I remember playing a game of DnD once: it can become a true nightmare with all the stuff you have to take care of (especially as a GM: these pesky adventurers always find "irrelevant" things to do whle fighting a troll...).

OOC: Hum. I almost wonder if this is best put on hold until after exams, though that would be for the examinees to request.

(No real need for OOC yet since we haven't started yet - but thank you all for using the format anyway!)

Good idea, Saerleiya! I'll start making one immediately. xD

saer, ikke - too bad! Keep an eye out for when the next season starts!

Haven't had replies from everyone yet, so we can't start! Will wait around til the end of the week again, then I'll start calling you out - and you'd better show...! ;D

Lol no but after the first five minutes of making one I already immediately regret not doing so in the first place. xD
Seriously, thanks for the suggestion. This is gonna save years of filtering through PMs...

While most of you have replied, I still got to receive PMs from some people about their starting inventories. You know who you are!

If the tardies don't respond to me by Sunday, midnight, I will have to force an inventory onto them (it won't be good if I do!). Those people will also get a warning PM. If they fail to respond again the next time I request so, they will be killed off.

Make sure it's an embarassing death too. I liked it when Hunch killed off an idle player in Mafia with a note that the player "forgot to breathe." I think it was Xenon actually, which makes it even better!

I am very sorry, but I will not be able to participate. Since I signed up I have become preoccupied with exams and other things. I am very sorry to be letting you down :(.
