I wanna play a megaman, because they look like fun, but I'm not sure with which game to start.. I've heard good things about 2?
Megaman 2 is a good way to start, though I prefer Megaman 3, but oh well.

> so unpopular

Right now I'm playing through the Megaman Anniversary collection on Gamecube, it comes with 8 Megaman titles in one (and 2 bonus titles), so a lot of content here.

I've reached Megaman 7, and jesus christ, it is quite honestly the most boring Megaman title by far. Everything is insanely slow paced. Megaman's sprite is way too huge. I've seen a lot of hate for Megaman 8, despite the atrocious voice acting I loved Megaman 8, it was slow but it had some of the most lovable environments and bosses, Megaman 7 really lacks, other than Shade Man's level, most levels are insanely boring and short. Can't wait to be finished with this title.

I'm about to violently disagree with you.

There. Now we can all go back our opinions.

In all seriousness though, while it's true that Megaman 7 was slowed down a bit from the NES titles, the slide and the jump are still fast enough for me to forgive it (instead of MM8). And I like the comic-book style of this game more that I like the style of Megaman 8. Also, there are secrets everywhere in the levels of Megaman 7. I personnally love it.

I enjoy hearing different opinions about the franchise really.

I can easily see why someone might like 7 but it's quite honestly boring the heck out of me, especially since I ended up falling in love with Megaman 6. My problem is the environments on 7 all feel so clunked together, at least Megaman 8 had a lot of free space. The boss ost is some of the most boring, it's especially disappointing considering the fact Megaman X was released on the same console and had some of the most rocking tunes. They could've done way more with the soundtrack.

I'm on the final part of Wily Castle which I'll tackle later today, it's a good game, it's just by far my least favorite of the anniversary collection.

Edit: Yeah I'm aware Megaman 7 is filled to the brim with secrets and easter eggs, both a Ghost 'n Goblins and Street Fighter one which is cool. Unfortunately I think the hidden items are kind of bullshit, hidden in areas that without the use of internet or a guide would be near impossible to find.

Yep, that's the one.

Out of sheer curiosity, Rayfist, if I were to put subtitles onto my retrospective videos, would you care to look at them?

I'd love to check them out!

So Mighty No. 9 was given a release date. I've read a lot more on the whole Dina controversy and the way she treated people makes me really sad. I hope her work there as a community manager doesn't affect the overall quality of the game. From what I've played of the beta of Mighty No. 9, I'm worried, it felt rather uninspired, but than again, those are just a few levels, and it's a beta after all. I'll probably get a retail version of the game.

I think that one of the reasons why game is delayed is because Comcept wants to fix all issues with it from Beta.

Anyone who wants Beta, I uploaded it on MEGA:

It's the gameplay itself that kind of left this weird taste in my mouth, it's suppose to be a tribute to classic Megaman, yet the boost ability felt very repetitive imo. I would've preferred the boost ability being like Megaman X, it makes for fun speedruns. Megaman games always had fair challenge, however Mighty no. 9 felt pretty easy... With the whole drama going on with it, I'm scared for the final product

Sorry for the double post here, but big news for any Megaman fans on the forum (unfortunately there aren't many, especially with the loss of one member who was one too), a Megaman animated series has been announced for 2017!

Here's hoping it doesn't suck.

Hmm, Man of Action. They're the people behind Ben 10.

This could swing one way or the other, guess time will tell.

I recall few episodes of Ben 10, I didn't like it very much but I do think this Megaman series has potential.

Man of Action has great animation but stories suck a lot. I think Ben 10 is amazingly animated but everything is way too much boring for my taste. I am not happy that they are the ones that will make new Mega Man Animated series. But I will try not to judge it based on Ben 10 thoughts.

I have played a bit of megaman 2 again at my best friend last sunday, I managed to beat 1 stage (1 death) but then I had to go.

For these kind of shows, I never expect too much from, sadly :/

Heads up. New Mighty no. 9 trailer
After looking at some of these stages, I'm a lot more interested now.

Also in other very good news, Megaman now has a new producer

You guys think we may actually see a new Megaman sometime?
