While I don't know why it's done I suppose an annual thing would just seem dull especially if there's been so few changes in members over the year.
As for groups they are generated at random using this site here : https://www.randomlists.com/team-generator In case anyone thought i'd be so mean as to put popular members together just to make you all suffer. But yes if you've had experience with these sort of contests before you'll know there's always going to be that one bad group even if the groups are random.
I wouldn't be so happy about that. Being placed with a bunch of "cool" people could cost you going to the next round, unless people think you are cooler than the cool

Today will be the final day for you to send in votes. Tomorrow when I log on i'll not only have the results for this round up but the next round will come immediately after. To give some insight on what the next round will be like there will be 6 groups again, only 4 members will be in each group and you vote for 2 per group.
EDIT : On that note actually if there's a tie breaker for who to go through then there'll be one day where you guys get to vote for that.

As i've mentioned above there will be 6 groups again but you only vote for 2 members per group.

EDIT : I also like to remind everyone that we are voting for the member you consider to be the best member in terms of contribution to RPC (Be it because they work hard on Raywiki or simply fun to be around), this isn't a contest for popularity.
