How gay is RPC?

I'm suprised that this topic was able to keep relatively appropriate, good for us! 
Being Assexual isn't abstinence; where an abstinent person choose not to have sex; Assexual people can, but it isn't for them, since being assexual is the absence of a sexual preference (not worded the best I know.)
As to how I fit into this, it's a bit of a story. To start off, I've never been into people in a sexual manner (now there's a good double entente). When people talk about sex and sexuality, I always kinda shrugged it off, as I don't understand what about a person is "desirable." This last spring I began getting a bit concerned as to who I was sexually and started looking up porn (to which I almost got sick, hilariously), and even attempted to masturbate to both guys and girls. Suffice to say it didn't quite work as I intended. At this point I began wondering if it was possible to simply not have a sexuality, which a quick trip to the internet provided. It's always possible I've been through a rather long phase (as only 1% of the world is recorded as assexual), but I kinda doubt it.
Well, seeing how I make 50% percent of that vote total, I may as well speak up. Where to begin on the matter... First of all transgendered is an incorrect phrase. Secondly I never believed there was a gender spectrum, until I met people who were all around it, they explained to me how it felt to be neither male nor female or even both or none at all! Their stories were valid and struck me pretty hard, if you meet these type of people and actually listen to them you will understand.Xenon said:

I was born with a female gender but I was just assigned male at birth, and in my honest opinion they should change the names of the sexes or atleast say ''assigned'' so people don't have the wrong view of us trans folk.

@ Princess: Reading that message makes me think I offended you in my previous comments, so first of all apologies if my post came across as insulting. Though, I'm not sure how you want me to respond. Gender, by its very nature is a binary thing, so the bulk of your post is irrelevant subjectivity. I'm not heartless, I can empathise with feelings and I know a trans- person personally. But just because someone identifies with the other gender or prefers the attributes of the other gender doesn't mean they are a lesser percentage of the gender they 'are'. To say that's a matter of fact would be arrogant, but I don't see how it could be a matter of opinion.
Again, I have nothing against the concept of trans-gendering, just the way certain people go about rationalising it. If people want to switch their sex that's great, but they shouldn't then make spurious claims about their original sex.

As much as there is a close link between sexualities and gender I'm going to agree that the discussion going on is much too centered around gender/sex that's not in reference to sexualities (And yes I am aware I was part of such discussion yesterday before you say). I don't think it's terribly wrong to be skeptical of someone saying they're biologically asexual early on, as long as it's not meant offensively (ex: xenon). It is really rare, but from what Dart said and what GN's mentioned in previous discussions they both sound perfectly confident about it. There's always cases of people who eventually change their mind about their sexuality (ex: me) but we have no reason to hand out predetermined expectations about someone else's identity. Sexuality is a pretty personal topic for a lot of people, don't try to judge and decide for anyone about it.
That would apply more to being aromantic than asexual, no? Sexuality acts itself out in sex, physical attraction, and trying to look uninteresting while staring at someone's ass. Dart isn't going to suddenly go on a porn binge if he finds a romantic interest.incognito said:

Whatever you use to define a person's sex (though it can clearly not be the hormones in your body, maybe you meant hormone secretion), my point still stands: a huge majority of people has a clear biological sex. Not sure what you're trying to say here.Serza5 said:

Even if you're right and sexuality is based on the sex people identify as, then bisexual and pansexual are the same thing. Same if you're not and it's both actual sex and the sex people identify as.

What about people with 2 penises, are they double man? Or 2 vaginas, are they double woman? Well, first, I have to precise that I consider it more like a choice than a biological "condition" (in my case, that is). Technically, my sexual fantasies imply girls way more than boys, so for some that would make me an abstinent straight? Whatever, I personally find less confusing to consider me an asexual: I don't want sex, and I'm fine with it. It's more a social choice than a biological fact.
If I mentioned fantasy, it's because I'm not attracted to any people. I naturally focus more on who they are than on any sexual desire. I value more friendship than the eventuality of a sexual intercourse, or whatever we call “love” (romance being, as well as fidelity, an absolutely social concept, thus completely unnatural
). Sure, my social awkwardness has something to do with that. But in the end, I find interacting with people through their opinions, their personalities, they creations or tastes, way more interesting than a physical joy. Thus, I'm unable to feel a sexual attraction for a girl. Of course, of course, I may change my mind one day. After all, it's a choice, it might not be permanent. But I'm happy as I am, and I really dont' see any reason to force me to seek for a need I don't have. Maybe the desire will come, maybe not, who cares?
