Hm, an Alpha release tends to be a very early WIP build, BETA tends to be closer to finish, and then you have RTM or gold, if memory serves.

mr Gamerz321wx, because the actual state is Alpha (or even pre-alpha) and not Beta (feature complete). This said, I hope this erratum won't make it hard for you to get a good night sleep.
Being an aplha, you won't complain there is no finish line yet, i hope it makes sense :hehe:

I like how tings are depicted as sort of glowing orbs of light, similar to lums, rather than as solid spheres. If memory serves me correct, weren't there lums in the first demo instead of tings? (That being said I prefer the tings anyway ;))

Lums/tings haven't changed much since the first demo, i was very surprised to find a video made a while ago of it!

To be honest I don't even know if I made lums or tings. Even my asset files are very confused in the naming, some are called tings and other lums, could not choose between the two :mrgreen: The goal was to make something similar but slightly different from the official Rayman :wink:

Just played it! Seems good, but there was one ting I wasn't able to get, and some I couldn't find. I also found a bug where sometimes the footsteps sound plays instead of helicoptering.

Yes the ting placement is still work in progress. I'm adding this bug on my todo list! Can you please provide me steps to reproduce it (if any)?

I love the idea of using Moskito as the tutorial guy. He's better than Murphy. :)

Ahh there he is! :D

Hey, today I was playing the second demo again, and I encountered a strange glitch. I was at the part where Rayman walks through the hole in the giant tree, and I when I jumped into the tunnel/hole he clipped right through it and fell into the water, and continued to do so each time I retried until I quit. Not entirely sure how I ended up doing that, I think it started when I was walking along the tree branch in front of it, then walk-jumped onto the edge of the entrance.

Ouch that is serious glitch! I've never experienced this, i'm trying to reproduce it without success. Seems to be a bad collision detection, maybe this can be avoided by fine tuning some parameter... :paranormal:

I finally tried the Alpha #2. And what can I say besides... bravo! :D
The Alpha #1 was beautiful, but now, it's even better!

There are 3D Antitoons everywhere (some of them hidden in plants :bad:), and it's better to not let them getting closer to you. Unlike the 3D Antitoons of Rayman 2 PS1, they bite!

As Master said, I think a Strafe movement for Rayman could be interesting, like in R2 and R3.

I think the Moskito in question is Bzzit, actually, but Lucky3 has been referring to him as Moskito. ;) If I recall correctly, the real 'Moskito' of R1 was the red and dark purple one, though in most versions of the game he was given the same colours as the first moskito, or 'Bzzit'.

Yep, it's one of the many "Confusion Source" in the Rayman games... :confus:

Yup, I think the Red and dark purple version appears in Rayman for Atari Jaguar.
