This is what I do differently from other people:
— I use long (called “en” (–) and “em” (—)) dashes
— I use smart (“ ” ‘ ’) quotes
— I type ellipses as a single character (… instead of ...)

On the subject of your corrections, < advises that in the UK (and probably elsewhere), periods are referred to as full stops, handily, as periods take on another meaning completely different involving vaginas
