Of course not. I like being typographically correct.

This is what I do differently from other people:
— I use long (called “en” (–) and “em” (—)) dashes
— I use smart (“ ” ‘ ’) quotes
— I type ellipses as a single character (… instead of ...)

< says that’s an apostrophe, not a single quotation mark.
