I see Raymesis as the original Bad Rayman (or Bad Rayman Classic) Mr. Dark created. And I see Dark Rayman as a clone created by the Magician and his clones.

In my opinion, that's really not the case.

Raymesis is a creation of the Bubble Dreamer, who just dreamed about a good "Bad Rayman". He got confused in Origins and thought that Bad Rayman actually decided to become friends with him and the crew, but it was all just a dream, that's why he calls him "DarkRay" in a friendly way, instead of his full "Dark Rayman". And, well, all of his dreams come true, so he accidentally made a "good clone", who's friendly, but also has some of Bad Rayman's traditional traits, like having sort of an evil side and trying to ruin Rayman's reputation (According to Rayman Legends' description, of course).

Dark Rayman seems to be the real deal. He's a wandering spell. Mr. Dark just used him as a spell in the first game, but then, Mr Dark was defeated, and there was no one to break the spell other than Mr Dark himself. Soooo... with no one to end Dark Rayman's miserable life, he still does nowadays what he was created to do... try to defeat Rayman by copying his moves.

That's pretty much how I see it as well. I mean being able to play as the real "Dark Rayman" would be kind of odd as he's not a good guy.

Yeah, that's a good canon explanation. I wonder where Dark Rayman from Arena falls in all of this.

I know I'm breaking the wiki's canon, but I'm pretty sure that the so called Dark Rayman from Rayman Arena is just the regular Bad Rayman, but poorly turned into a skin by some dev that had very vague info and said "oh, yeah! Rayman had some sort of... evil clone, didn't he?". While all of the skins in Origins and Legends hold a little storyline to make them separate characters, I'm not sure about the skins in a spin-off game like Arena. It's like saying that all of the costumes in Raving Rabbids are different characters. Or more likely, it's like saying that Kermit Globox is canon.

So... yeah, Arena's Dark Rayman shouldn't be a thing. I'm surprised he's got a whole article for himself.

To be fair, the whole "X instead of a O" part of his design is fucking brilliant. They should have incorporated that into Raymesis's design in Rayman Origins.

Well... it's a nice choice. But man, those red eyes ruin it for me.

@Sergio, I'm assuming that's your interpretation of DarkRay. I don't remember this being stated anywhere.

Also, the reason why Dark Rayman is a different character and not just a skin for Rayman is because of how he appears to be a separated entity. Unlike all the other skins, he has an official name and he's given levels designed for him. He's basically the bad guy of Rayman Arena, being obtained only after 100%-ing the game (as far as I remember).

The red eyes and red gloves are just atrocious design choices. It looks horrible. But I do like the 'X' instead of the 'O'.

Hey does collecting all the teensies actually result in a worthy reward? I keep missing one in every level and I don't feel like replaying entire worlds just for a costume or something. :?

Collecting Teensies results in getting more Lums, 100%ing more Levels that can give you Lucky tickets, the more Teensies you collect also unlocks more levels as well, and freeing all the Teensies unlocks the one of the Final Heroes.

That... 'thing' looks like an MS Paint recolor. They just took the brush tool and scribbled red over everything. How on Earth was that supposed to be better than his design from Rayman 1? What were they thinking?

Eh... what? are we talking about the same game? there's no way to "replay a world" in this game

Just try to get the highest score in every level, that''s your only real mission.

...what the fuck? I feel like I should be laughing at that joke but I honestly have no idea what the connection is.

sergiomonty sounded like he had mistakenly written about Rayman Adventures, if that was unclear.
