Welp, looks like the United States just went fucking nuclear on itself. Bernie got absolutely BTFO in New York and there's just no recovering from that regardless of his surge. I don't have any experience with past elections or know how it's been going down in general, but this whole presidential race has been unbelievably ridiculous and the sleaziness of the whole thing has gone far beyond anything the level I already expected it to drop down to.
So now it comes down to democratic shill and a range of different kinds of awful on the republican side. Regardless of the outcome though, I think all the events that have played out have pretty much tripled my knowledge on how the corporate grip influences politics and how it operates. The establishment is a fucking disgrace that insults your intelligence in ever way, and I really desperately hope Trump doesn't take the win now - I'd rather have Hillary spend four years being an even more unlikable replacement for an already unlikable Obama than Trump's illusion that he somehow is an outsider to the establishment.
TL;DR, every other candidate is objectively shit and will inevitably be a horrendous four years for net neutrality, the TPP and climate change. Really don't mistake Clinton for being any kind of rational person among the choices, her and Bill have both sold out to large corporations long ago and they only represent donors, abusing socio-politics to appear like they've got some sense of morals and talking in vague, center-right opinions that never sound confident or promising. Obviously Clinton is still the best poison of them all, but especially in the weeks leading up to today I think her campaign has reached lows on a level even fucking Trump hasn't stepped down to.
But what scares me the most of it all is that, regardless the outcome, we don't just get an opportunity like Sanders again. In 2020 there may very well just be nothing but a selection of bought puppet politicians who deny people the basic fucking protection from major climate disasters and discuss the best way to introduce more legislation and acts to fuck over small businesses and cut people from their 1st amendment rights. When you look at how openly rigged tonight's primary is, and then Obama just going "eh deal with it, we're not doing shit!", it's the most surreal shit - the government openly admitting to corruption but also refusing to target it, and there's just no one doing anything about it.
