Record day will take place on Saturday, July 16th.

For the eleventh time, Pirate-Community is organizing a posts in a day record. Here is a short description for those of you who joined recently:

Each year since 2006, we organise a posts in a day record at PC. The whole thing is quite simple: it consists in posting the most possible messages in a predetermined time span of 24 hours. The goal is not only to break a new record every year or bring more activity to the forums, but also to shuffle our topics in order to bring new discussions for the following year.

This is not a spam contest, and useless messages are obviously not welcome. However, the special conditions during the record day will be the cause of a certain leniency, especially as concerns old topics, which can be bumped freely.

Last year we beat the previous record again with an insane 32252 posts! Can we do better this year? That's up to you!

The rewards rise to the occasion: each post is worth 15 Tings within the given time span, and then come the bonus Tings: 1500 for participating, 1500 for beating one's previous posts in a day record, and 3000 Tings for the winner. For example, last year someone earned the incredible amount of 84690 Tings that day.

As for the date, I would recommend a Saturday in July or August, but I'd like to hear your thoughts before I set up the poll.

This year's a bit undecided, things have been moving rather briskly on my end. I'd probably go for August.
 
I am against the idea of Record Day since the myth of Mitten-Moss-Man failed to stick around. I am therefore in full grumpy mode.
 
Late July/August is the time i'll be around although I gotta admit I have no intentions of being competitive this year.
 
Aaaaaaaaahhhh !!! Serious stuff begins, I'd recommend the 8 August. Or the 20 of July.
I don't know why but I have the very strong feel, actually conviction that it will be in the late july.

I am fine with it being July or August.
So to sum it up.
On X day we post as many posts as possible til the end of Day X.

Is this for the entire site, including the french and dutch servers?
These have to be legitimate posts right?
We can't just spam, it would make it too easy.

Yes, though it's all one server, actually.

Fairly so, you are allowed to make things a bit more simple for the sake of speed, but spam is certainly a no no as well as double posting.

July 16th would be fine with me, or sometime August. Assuming that day stays entirely free for me, I'd like to aim for a top 5 spot this year.
