Eig was planned for the N64/PC release as well as a bunch of other Dreamcast exclusive things such as the cutscene in The Prison Ship.

These trailers are really interesting to watch. I so wish these cut Ly race levels would have made it into the final game as they look more expansive than the ones we got.
 
amazing findings my brothers. it is a daytime dream to imagine all the possibilities Rayman 2 could have evolved into.

I thiiiiiiiiiiiink Eig textures are in PC versions (or part of it), don't remember

I did a quick check and I saw some textures which kind of resembles Eig. It's hard to see clearly though as it's just the textures and not the actual model.

WHOAH! We finally know what that press kit contains! :o the renders are actually on the rayman fanpage but I haven't seen the other stuff! I think only 1 Rayman 2 press kit was sold on eBay.
EDIT: Oh this actually says Ubisoft Fall 1999 Press Kit, I guess the content of the R2 one will never be known, still, there's some neat stuff.

Also that VHS I bought back in February does contain some footage of the original Rayman 2. (11:59)
Nothing we haven't seen before. It's in a little better quality though.

In the magazine "GamePro August 1996 # 95" There is a small review of the original Rayman 2.
This is the first time Ive seen a US magazine mention the game.

I have some doubts about the authenticity of the magazine informations. They refer Mr. Dark to the General villain? Something is not right here.
 
I thought the same thing. But, (I assume) the original plot to Rayman 2 is still unknown.
I have 5 magazines coming in he mail. Hopefully they will contain more information.

Edit: I think he mistaken The General for Mister Dark.

I think she has some contacts, because look, she explains a lot more in depth the story of the SNES game etc
 
Hi, this is my tumblr page! No, I don't have any contacts with Ubisoft XD! The Pix N Love Rayman book contains some scans from the SNES Rayman pitch bible, which I translated and took some photos of. Thanks for reminding me of this project, I was planning to do a new post soon :)
 
I thought the name of the blog looked familiar, thanks for taking the time out to translate the History of Rayman book for those of us who weren't able to get it.
 
I found video with concept art of Rayman Raving Rabbids. They look very interesting and show some levels that should have been to be there.
 
The video is not rare at all as these are bonuses that can be unlocked in Rayman Raving Rabbids games but thanks for showing anyway!
