Naaah, that's a mistake, I left the Skype chat for that reason, but the percentage of a- holes is largely inferior on the forums.

Been playing Pokemon: Sun. Very enjoyable. I like the changes and improvements, such as the exclusion of HMs and the feature which replaces them.

Also got back into Fallout 4 with the season pass. Only got it for Far Harbour and Nuka World as I felt the rest of the content is a bit meh.
Far Harbour is great so far, pseudo-minecraft/portal quest aside.

I decided to give Sonic Adventure a shot. Gameplay wise, it's not too bad for Sonic's first proper 3D game, some of the platforming was a bit iffy, but overall, not too shabby.

But then I got to Big's fishing. And I finally understand why it's loathed, I'm half tempted to seek a mod to skip his story entirely.

EDIT: Ah screw it, skipped it. Final Story was pretty nice, Chaos was a decent if somewhat easy boss. I think I struggled more with his Generations incarnation in honesty.

Too much FNAF and Rayman 3 raging over here while my husband plays too much Assassins Creed late into the night. We're a wreck right now.

Happy holidays everyone! As an early gift, I got Final Fantasy XV (Although the update took 10 hours.)

I'm 4 hours in so far and already hooked. Really reminds me a lot of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, where I got so ridiculously sidetracked with the side quests that I ended up completing the story very late into the game. I hope that's not the case with this game, but I would love to do a lot of these side quests.

And I platinumed it just today :D

I ended up completing the main story about 90 hours in, after doing all the sidequests. :P And then continued doing post-game sidequests until I finally finished that at 110 hours.
Most sidequests are horrible fetch quests with no story to them though, so I kind of regret doing everything there was to do. I did love the dungeons though, so I definitely recommend going through those. There's also one secret dungeon that you can only access post-game, and that one is amazing (though also very frustrating at times) so don't forget to look that up when the time comes. :)

I enjoyed the main story too (except for one of the final chapters), but I thought it was badly told, though you'll see that for yourself I suppose. That definitely disappointed me a lot, coming from Suikoden II's fantastic storytelling.

Enjoy the game! :)

The game is so god damn addictive. I don't think I could platinum it, but hey it's worth a shot! I plan to beat the main story, but I have a lot of RPGs in my backlog so I really want to move onto SMT Nocturne. As for the side content... yeah, I made that mistake with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. I ended up doing all the side content and it just made the story way too easy. I don't really want to do that with Final Fantasy XV. I want to get a move on with the story. The story is really good but I think it starts out rather slow until you reach Altissia. I'd definitely like to do a few streams.

So I've been thinking the past few days what my games of 2016 would be and if I had to give 3 to recommend, they'd probably be Uncharted 4 as the best game this year, Final Fantasy as 2nd, and Shantae and the Pirates Curse as my 3rd as well as best mobile game of the year.

TBH I don't think I was to impressed with many of this years releases, Fire Emblem Fates was easily among the weakest I've played from the franchise, and while Majora's Mask 3D and Kirby: Planet Robobot were fun, neither caught my attention for to long (IMO the tone of the original Majora's mask is way better and Kirby has struggled to keep my interest since Return to Dreamland). DOOM has been fun, but I seriously don't think anyone's missing out by playing it.

Kinda curious to hear what everyone else thought about 2016 in terms of games, I'm sure I missed a lot, since I barely played much new this year! :P

I also agree with you about Uncharted 4. Another game I thought was pretty remarkable in 2016 was Inside; it's the spiritual successor to LIMBO and one of the best designed games I've played in a while.
