I won't get into the comparisons, as I do agree in some regards that the PS4 is lacking in certain areas that the PS3 covered (such as the aforementioned backwards-compatibility).

Please tell me you mean that in the metaphorical sense, as said before, the PS4 is a significantly different machine to the PS3. A lack of features does not a prototype make, it just makes it less alluring.

The PS Plus thing on the PS4 is definitely somewhat of a major flaw that isn't on the PS3, though 50 American dollars for 1 year isn't really a terrible deal. But still just cause there's 6 reasons, doesn't exactly mean it's the better option overall. Let me analyze these reasons.

1. Backwards compatibility for bygone eras (PlayStation 3 backwards compatibility). Ok, I'll give you that one, but a simple solution is get a PS2 to do that, or a 3 based on money budget.

2. The Blu-ray player. This one don't apply to me, since I don't watch a ton of movies. The ones I do, I just get the DVD one. Alternative, get a Blu-ray player.

3. Online play is free. Like I stated above, a flaw, I'll give you that one too.

4. New releases. True, PS3 isn't dead yet, but for certain franchises (MLB, Crash Bandicoot), future releases will only be on PS4. Cheaper price for PS3, but superior in quality and more collection of games for PS4.

5. It plays music CD's. Don't get me wrong, I love music CD's, but this for a comparison between the PS3 and the PS4 on whether or not they can play it, is downright lame. DVD player, computer, the good old CD player in the car, or digital are much better alternatives.

I still believe, even with it's flaws and minor exclusions, the PS4 outshines the PS3 in the end.

3. if George Fan wasn't fired from PopCapand ******* EA took over PopCap, then there would have been a PvZ for PS4, (or PS now) its all your fault EA! If you took over Rayman or Minecraft then I would have no games to play being bored. Well at least PvZ 2 is good. But no console or PC versions!?!? And the console versions are just dumb garden warfare? EA sucks prove it!
4. Yes PlayStation is becoming bad lately. And Sonys moves are getting badder and badder. We must call Sony and tell them that you have to make the PS4 have backwards compatibility!!!!

Eh, as chaotic as these threads tend to be, there usually is some strand of intriguing conversation. And as zany as this thread is, I do think there are legitimate areas where a PS3 trumps a PS4.

I don't believe that's possible. If it was, someone would've accomplished it by now, due to the 4 being out for over 3 years. But, can't hurt to try, I guess.

Even if it were modded onto the PS4, I'd imagine it'd not perform very well. The PS4 is not the same machine as the PS3, the only way it could play PS3 games is by emulation. And thanks to the PS3's complicated hardware, it'd take a significant amount of power to emulate the PS3 in a satisfactory way. It seems that there is a PS3 emulator for PC, but from what I've seen, it's not all there yet.
