Perhaps a illustrative diagram might better catch attention and convey the point more clearly?

As for a square-ish size limit, I think adding more than one maximum size would be a bit confusing (especially seeing as how so many new members already get the current dimensions wrong) but something around 325 to 350 square would be good.
And about people getting the dimensions wrong, maybe that should be higher up on the rules list? Right now it looks like a block of text and the size limit rule, probably the most often broken one, is near the bottom at the end of a sentence. People would probably pay more attention if it was right at the top in big letters, or something like that.

1. I looked at this topic on my phone and I do believe the re-size thing to be the case but one thing that stands out is that ShadowRayman's current sig looks particulary large on my phone most likely because it's square (In comparison the mock up sig I made looked to be the exact same size as the one i'm using right now). 2. Consequently i'm a bit more iffy on the square sig now, not to mention 325 still looks a bit big to me :

3.. The biggest offenders of those who break the size limit rules tend to be those who were told directly at one point only to completely forget about it next time. I do think you're right in saying it should be higher up anyway.

Possibly, i'll change the position of the rule and post the mock up I made earlier bellow it.

All that aside we're going to start voting tomorrow so anyone who has sigs they want to make within the size limit better do so now. :mryellow:
 
The forum does indeed resize images automatically now, however the file size remains the same (client-side resizing), so it makes sense to maintain limits on signatures. The forum's layout does not extend indefinitely with screen size and I believe the maximum width before an image gets resized is around 900-950 px, so we could go for something like that.

Signature height is a much more important problem as it creates a lot of scrolling for other users, with square signatures being especially annoying on mobile as they don't get resized at all. I feel that 285 px may already be too much.

285 keep in mind was voted by the members here when they felt the height was too small at 250, therefore i'm less inclined to downsize that further.

Consequently today is the end which means it's time to vote.

But I'd like to suggest Geometry as a theme, if that makes sense.
 
Because you're up against experienced and good competition, it's nothing to be taken personally. There's no vendetta against you here.
