Show off your entertainment system!

I figured since there really isn't anything to tackle this, and Hunchman's picture inspired me to do so, I feel we should have a thread dedicated to allow fellow members to show off what they use for their entertainment systems! Whether it's their living room, bedroom systems, for normal TV or gaming needs. Got yourself a home theater system even, feel free to show it off! Got just a TV and that's it, show it off too! Don't be shy!

I shall begin with my own home theater system located in my bedroom.

For size reference, that is a 55" OLED TV, and I also now have a gaming HTPC in the mix.

Well howdy howdy folks, it's been a while since I've given any updates on my own system, and hopefully this will inspire anyone else to show off their system! My system has gone through several updates since the date of the OP. Honestly the journey is not over yet. More planned upgrades and changes are in the works, even with my slow ass.

Let's start with an updated system overview!

I won't update the video game system list or misc equipment for now. Future expansion is in the works, such as adding my Crown DCi 4|600N and additional surround channels. I am going to add some of DIYSoundgroup's HT-88 Specials as my Front Wides and I'll be adding another layer of overheads for Dolby Atmos. What currently serves as the Top Height Rear will become Top Height Middle and then when I add the unistrut channel I'll be adding the new Volt-6s as the Top Height Rear. This will make the system a 9.1.6 channel system.

The next big project is relocating the audio rack from where it sits now into a space within my closet. There is a bit of a 'cavity' between that closet and the room my computer equipment is in. That allows some duct work to go from the first floor into the attic. This is a two-story house. Basically I can just open up the wall, like I'm adding a door, but instead of a door there it'll be a nice full sized 48U enclosed audio rack.

I wanted to toy with the idea of stuffing an enclosed server rack, but that unfortunately won't fit due to the limited depth. So I can't take my servers and move them there too, not without getting ones that don't go as deep anyway. The networking equipment wouldn't be a problem... So I might have to do some thinking here.

Anyway, I did model a few things up in Blender to get an idea of this will fit, and so far so good. I'll post more about that later.

Another upgrade I'm doing is I'm going to be adding a couple of 24" subwoofers into the system. There's a Canadian company making some really nice drivers that do offer them to the DIY community called Harbottle Audio, and they make some really nice drivers. So these will either be replacing my nearfield rear subwoofers or be adding to the back of my room in place of my shelves holding up the rear back surround speakers.

So mine's a bit more a, humble I guess. The consoles tend to shuffle around a bit, my nephews currently have my N64 and my PS3 is currently in my closet. In any case I much prefer to decorate it with little figurines and stuffed animals

The retro consoles weren't able to at first until now, since I have the RGB SCART switch for the Framemeister. Though all the modern HDMI based consoles (Switch included now, though I forgot to list it) are. Especially with my 8-port HDMI switch.

Only consoles that aren't, are the semi-modern ones, such as the Xbox (Original), PS2, and GameCube, since they are component based. I still need something for them.

The Dreamcast however will be via SCART RGB.

Well I concede defeat.

Still happy with my four consoles, I can't say I really need more at the moment.

Here are the NES and Mega Drive again, both connected to a CRT.


This is my desk, my PC and PS3 are underneath. Feel free to take a look at my cool mouse and keyboard. The mousepad was literally thrown at me at gamescom 2013.


This is in a different room. My PS2 and Wii are both connected to another CRT.


Man I wish that there was daylight, because samsung phones are terrible at taking photos when it's even dark in the slightest.

Nice! I definitely love the classic games on CRT sets.

Nice configurations, though ever play the Mega Drive and NES on the bigger CRT?

Not really, I only use them on the small CRT as for now.

Which reminds me, I need to get my 27" CRT set back up, sometime.

I'd still love to get a PVM though.

The price of mine is nowhere close to Hood's.

It's just our old pal Churchill. I found it in the cellar when we first moved in to the house, I only really keep him here because it looks funny (though unfortunately he's seemingly missing a pipe).
