Rayman 3 scores

The main difference I noticed when trying it was the UI looked to be a much higher resolution, but I don't think that's important.

At the same time the resolution doesn't make a difference to the scores as some of the highest scores in the world were done on consoles like PS2 and xbox.

Great to see you here again MG. It's nice to know that even after your long absence you're still interested in this game and the community here! Well, good games never die! :D

Also, in case of a stream or the like I'll gladly come on board. :)

As for the new discoveries, I might upload a list or a video with (hopefully) all scoring-relevant glitches at some point. Maybe this might help to get a grasp of all the new (and also the old) techniques, in case you're interested. It might take me a while though. Apart from that I have a pretty much complete video list sorted by levels and parts, including the new combos as well. It just doesn't look too good yet, which is why I haven't uploaded it on the Wiki so far. However, if anyone's interested I might post it here, or I can improve the list a bit and then upload it on the Wiki.

I guess you mean this glitch? This is actually one of the few places, where attempting a SJ will result in you landing under the map. It may happen in LOTLD part 4 too. :wink:

Finally, since it seems like a convenient time for it, I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who participate(d) in this community here and gave the game the attention it deserved.
Also, thanks to all the top players who got me into this game, the warm welcome you gave me back then and the awesome collaborations, especially with Cut, Maz and MandM. It's been a great time, which I honestly appreciate and which I'll keep in good memory.
 
Yeah I admit that seeing videos of all these pros at the game really made me find a lot of interest in trying to improve at scoring. I know the game has been around for 15 years but to me it's still like a new game because I haven't played it until just recently. I'd say I missed out but in a way not really since I'm still playing it now :)

I'm just trying to use the guide on the first page as much as I can, though there are certain combos that I'm not quite fast enough yet to get the hang of, I'm getting there on a few of them.

Oh and yeah that's exactly the glitch I meant :)

Even without the SJ though I managed to do OK on LOTLD for now. Still about 17,000 under the max though.

Speaking of TLOTLD, I just improved my score in that level from 65429 to 76529. :) (still I was so close to 80.000 though...)

Every little improvement helps :)

That's where I was last week so literally just a couple of the harder combos mastered and you'll be over 90k no problem (or at least 80k) :)

It's all just down to practice though which pays off in the end.

Still though 76k isn't bad. I was only getting like 60k a few weeks ago when I last played.

As a piece of advice, when you arrive to the Céloche fight, don't collect the yellow gems first, but after you beat him, since for every boss you get 1500 points so you can get a combo.

Oh and also thanks Steo. :)
 
I actually wonder though, if you collect a yellow gem just as you deliver the final hit will you get 3000 points. I know it's very unlikely to time it so perfect but I wonder.

I think I've tried that. Haven't succeeded, but I'm sure it's possible.
 
You probably would have to position yourself right in front of the yellow gem in order for that combo to happen.
 
I think it would have to be perfectly timed and almost impossible too because you have to avoid the torpedo or whatever it is.
 
Yeah it could be done if one were to position right in front then dodge at the last second, collecting the yellow gem while doing so. That sounds hard though.
 
Then you need to hope it would hit him in less than 2 seconds.
 
Ooh, or maybe a better idea would be to position one self next to a yellow gem, dodge the torpedo, and then collect the gem right before the moment the torpedo hits :D

No seriously, it feels like watching through a time window or something, I feel like I can perfectly remember the times when I "grinded my ass off" as a little kid to crack 500k, 600k, 700k and so on. Great times.

And keep it up, we gotta get some more active people into our realms :mrgreen:
 
I'm just enjoying getting better scores. It's great fun now that I'm actually starting to improve a little bit. Though I'm 26 and not a kid I absolutely love this game :P

I'm glad we're able to bring up some nostalgia for you guys too :)

I'm just very late to this game, but with a game like Rayman 3, it's never too late right? :mrgreen:

I kind of hope more people will start playing but I'm gathering everyone already maxed out their scores after 15 years of playing it.

My new CF score is 101,887 also. That's 2 levels I got 100k on now and my score is 551,938 so far. It's rising slowly but surely :)
