Rayman 3 scores

Well myself I found 30fps to have a higher jump than 60 but some framerates jumps aren't as high in between as 50 or 30 would be so it's kind of odd.
 
Gave up on the Green Gem for 6.000 in DOTK3... got it for 3.000 and finished the part with 45.261, bah...

Well, I guess at least I'll actually be able to finish the level now :oops2:
 
I kept Messing up on the part 7 double green gem combo so just gave up and got them in 2 singles. Still got 100k on DOTK though.
 
Best of luck with that. It's not impossible but just really annoying. I still haven't managed it myself.
 
Hmmmm....I wonder if the second intervals in combos change between different versions too. Probably not, but I'm curious..
 
I think they work in real time so they're all the same, but my guess about the jumping is that since the game goes the same speed even at the lower frame rate, the game is probably doing something like wait this many frames then start falling, then since the game is going the same speed but there's less frames happening meaning more time passes before as many frames go by, he doesnt start to fall for a longer time. I know it's not exactly that but it's something along the lines of it.
 
Finished DOTK with 115.650... not what I imagined of course, but considering I only got 3k for the Green Gem in Part 3, I'm pretty happy with this Score :D

Also, I submitted my Score to the HoF. I asked about entering IPG-Scores, but appearently, noone (safe for Cut and 1234 who were in favor) deemed it important enough to take a stance on that, so I'll take this "indifference" as an ok.

Hmmm, I suppose that's how it goes. I'm personally ok with it myself since I've seen people use it (on video of course :wink: )

That's amazing! I haven't had the fortune in grabbing 100K here yet, but I hope I can after practicing.

I hope everybody keeps trying harder. I plan to keep going with this game and testing out other versions before deciding on one I'll stick with for scoring. Though now I have to test all the other regions too, due to changes in jump height so this could take awhile... :oops2:
But anyway congrats again Maz! :)

I have to try improving on a few levels but I need to at least get half decent scores on all the levels before going any further.
 
I think you're already getting pretty decent scores :wink:

But keep trying I know we can be great at this and not suck badly! :lol:
I wonder about that DOTK SJ though in phase 3....hmm.....
 
That one is just kind of hard to get the right height on. You can try what Maz did (I've yet to try that myself) but I'd make sure to just at least have the lockjaw so you get 3000 for it if you can't get a combo :)

That's quite interesting; I didn't know that it's possible on PC under certain circumstances. On my PC I've never managed to do that.
However as usual there's a workaround for that, this time via a rolling SJ. Unlike the jump this should work on your main PC as well. :wink:


As for SBTC3, I quickly looked into this part with an infinite throttle copter, and I checked the glitchy spots.
- On the first spot which I showed in the video, you can't really stand, i.e. it behaves as a slope. It's quite similar to the spot on the left after the wooden slide (i.e. this one), so maybe you can get stuck there too!?
- The wall and the fence where you usually bounce off seems quite normal actually.
- As for the glitchy spot near the Hoodlock (quite at the end of the video), when I flew to it from below with the throttle copter, I got stuck as well. I'm not sure what's so special about this spot though.
 
As odd as it is though, the consoles also have higher jumping on the PAL versions when running at 50Hz and PC is the same, though it seems that on PC even at 50Hz it's only matching the console 60Hz jump height. Xbox definitely is far higher and at 50Hz you can easily jump the knaaren instead of using the left spot glitch. I've tried on PC though just as a test and I can't make that Knaaren jump even at 50fps. It seems to me like the PC version jump height at 30fps is similar to the Xbox at 50Hz but then again who wants to play Rayman at 30fps :lol: :lol:

As I said though there's always another way, just like that SJ on LOTLD and the left spot glitch on the Knaaren :)

That's a good thing for those of us who don't have PAL versions of the game. :)
Since NTSC versions of the game usually run at 60Hz and not 50Hz, no?

I think I can master those glitches with time. What's important for me first though is getting those long combos to execute perfectly. Without any sort of error whatsoever. After practicing with Dolphin and savestates, I can say that MOST of the combos I came up with can be done with practice. Lots of practice.
 
Yeah because although the glitches help, they're not going to help without being guided by perfect combos :)

Hmmm....it seems the solutions to several levels haven't been created. Wonder why? Kinda want to see what kind of combos the top scorers came up with for TTOTL. :)
