Funny enough I'm actually trying to get the oldest system together I possibly can. I think with the hardware I have, 2000 is the oldest one that will work. There might be a possibility of getting 98 to boot on a couple of boards I have, but the problem is drivers. I'm pretty sure there's no Realtek HD audio drivers for anything under 2000 so getting it to work won't be easy.

Also I love the old start up sounds :P

You could also use a virtual machine to try a bit, the different Windows

Virtual machines are cool, but I was just doing it to try get one running for real since I have a lot of spare parts. Windows 98 was on my first PC I ever had. I played a lot of solitaire and used MSpaint a lot back then :hap:

The funny thing is that was like 2004 or 2005 if I remember it right so it was really outdated. Still though, those were the days.

I was just happy to have a computer and OS like that since all I ever had before that was consoles. I have no idea why, but my dad wouldn't let me get a PC for a long time despite the fact that we would have no internet anyway. Maybe he was just paranoid about stuff.

Boy, I haven't heard that in quite a long time! I find it slightly relaxing.

Didn't Fifo prefer Windows 98? The OS that was out of date years before he was born? :P
