General Manipulate the Image #8: Neo Cortex

Oh Steo, That was gonna be my idea. I don't think I can match it but ah well..
I have a different scenario in my mind so that's good.

I was just talking to my brother and the first thing he said was war, so I just went with that and thought the old greyscale effect would suit it. I added yellow then to make it like sepia.

Best of luck, I'm not overly competitive and I'm in it for the fun of it :winkgrin:

Unfortunately much like the last RMTI I lack the inspiration for this image. :(

To be honest though, the hardest part is coming up with a good idea. Once you get the idea, executing it isn't so hard really. I just wish I was better with the likes of gimp so I wouldn't have to use windows 10 just to use Paint3D since Windows 10 sucks.

I use Game Maker Studio's image editor too sometimes to remove the background and make the image transparent.
 
I thought the sepia effect would be nice to make it look older, since it's war :mrgreen:

I think since I started entering these MTI contests I've gotten a lot better with using gimp myself, though I suppose I should keep experimenting with the program to learn more.

As for GMS, I only can get the trial version for free these days but it's better than nothing. Gives me a chance to try it out. :)
 
Oh yeah since making this post I've gotten really good with paint.net. Gimp would make more sense though if I want to use Linux.
 
Hehe I’ll keep that in mind ;)

I sometimes have to use paint in conjunction with Gimp to remove stubborn backgrounds, so I’ve gotten better in using that too.

You’re right that coming up with really good ideas is hard. I honestly couldn’t really think of anything better than that image you made for this GMTI. Speaking of which well done on the win! :)
