The You Game!

< had downloaded NullDC to play the dreamcast version as well. But what is preventing < from playing it and setting things up is the absence of BIOs.

That happened to < too, so < had to look for the BIOS online. iirc the ones < had to put into <'s data folder in the NullDC directory were:

dc_boot.bin
dc_flash.bin
dc_nvmem.bin
fsca-table.bin
vmu_default.bin

Just a little off-topic for a second about the spicy peppers thing, < really wouldn't eat these, the Habanero and especially not the Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper) peppers. I mean, just look at these things! From the Ghost Pepper's name already for instance and the look of these things, I can see exactly how brutally torrid and scorching these things are!

While < loves spicy like < said many times before already, everything is good only moderately, < thinks.

< slept for about 5 hours but that should do the job. It's Friday. :D

< wonders if < is doing something wrong with the emulation. < has the correct bios and the emulator can open up and < has downloaded a Rayman 2 dreamcast ISO. But it keeps saying "Please insert game disc". Is there something specific that < should do? :?:

EDIT: IT works now!! < just needed to patch the GDROM region and make it recognize the game as default.

< knows what’s wrong: not all Dreamcast images are self-booting.

Try getting a full GDI image of the game: https://www.freeroms.com/roms/sega_dreamcast/rayman_2_-_the_great_escape_v1_003.htm
The game is running successfully now. < did get that same GDI file. < was probably just not making the emulator recognize it as default and made it patch GDROM region. < tried that and it worked! Thanks for helping though.

< is so excited! :o

Nice. < had tested some self booting images on <'s real Dreamcast a few times and they actually work quite well.

<'s save on <'s file for R2 on NullDC strangely didn't work and < lost about 2 hours gameplay from Whale Bay back to The Fairy Glade. Weird. Also for some reason < decided to take a mininap at 5pm, which is kind of an unusual time for < to take naps.

< would assume that ^ made some sort of mistake in that case since it should save, though < uses a real Dreamcast and a legit copy of the game, so < wouldn't witness that kind of nonsense. :P

< forgot how annoying the Dreamcast version would be. With the exclusive drilling henchmen that shoot helicopter bombs.

But it is nice to be hearing the actual soundtracks rather than the MIDI tracks from playing the N64 version.

< should have repeated that the Dreamcast version has extra enemies. :P

< found that out quickly <self when < started phase 3 of the Fairy Glade and noticed the pirate in the caverns (though < has to start from The Fairy Glade again just now xD ). Also < found that Rayman does the grimace which < hasn't seen in other versions if one leaves him idle long enough, so that was interesting to find :D

< has seen that grimace many times and it's pretty cool that he does it. :D

< also thinks you'll see many extra enemies throughout the game. < didn't know there was extra enemies at first since < played that (the best) version first. :P

Yeah, < agrees, the grimace power is so cool. Though < thinks the idle animation you see on the other version where he takes out his hoodie and spins it around and bounces it left and right like a basketball is pretty cool too. :D

Also, the grimace power is the coolest in Rayman 3 imo, I just love how it can scare Black Lums and turn them back to Red Lums, that was a pretty creative idea by the developers. :)

Oh now < knows what < forgotten when < played NullDC yesterday morning. < pressed B instead of A when < was selecting VMUs so < must have chosen not to save <'s Rayman 2 progress. < really is an eejit.

< has just created a thread in the Off Topic section of the forum called "Spicy stuff" yesterday because how we were talking about all that stuff about spicy food and such, < got the idea to create it. For anyone that likes and is interested in spicy things, < suggests those people to check it out and vote on the poll < put up because < set the voting to end on the 15th.

< can understand if people want to get a cooldown from talking about the spicy thing, because honestly, < needs a cooldown from it too because while < liked talking about spicy yesterday, < thinks < seriously needs to take a break from it as < thinks < talked a bit too much about it.

<'s been so bloated the past couple of days that <'s stomach feels like a balloon.
