How's the weather?

Same, although most of the time I hate it. How it sticks onto whatever you're wearing for instance, especially if it's jeans.

It is calming. I find that I can sleep easily when I hear it rain heavily outside. I don't mind thunderstorms.

Is it weird that I find loud thuds of thunder quite a charming ambience?

I don't find thunderstorms intimidating myself tbh. Now tornadoes on the other hand if they did happen around here.....
