In Jungle Run, you can only play as Rayman freely. You have to spend money to be able to download and play as the characters RayCarrot mentioned above including Globox. 
And I can definitely say that if you use an Apple device to play, you are out of luck there.

Yeah it's weird also that Globox was DLC instead of being included.
