I am not an expert, but I'm pretty good.
Use this as a form of some sort:
Background: What color would you like for your background? Are there any exact RGB colors you would like, then please list it.
Image: What do you want an image of? It would help me if you know a good source of renders or images of a character you would like me to cut out. Would you like it to blend in with the background? Would you want it to be the same color, like this?
Or would you like your image to be a different color, like this one?
This signature I will use as my own.

Text: What Font do you want your text to be? If you don't know, choose one from http://www.dafont.com and give me the name of it. What color do you want your text to be? What size? What phrase/word do you want?
NOTE: Make sure that the color you pick is not the same color as the background, as it probaly won't stand out well.

My best so far, I think. ^^
Here is my latest work, I used Zeiva's Mage drawing for the render, Ardenwood font for the text, and purple for color. ^^
This is another version I made, I like this one a bit better. ^^
