Honestly the PS1 version may have its faults, but it's not the worst, and the same can be said with the PS2 version imho. If I were to pick a worst version it would be the DS version.

That's true about the portability of the 3DS version though, it's definitely the best portable version of the game which was official.

I think of all the versions, 3DS is the only I haven't played, so that's something on my to play list. I even played the iOS version when I had a iPhone 4, I remember being stuck on the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire for the longest time cuz of my big fingers and clunky controls (well they're not Globox fingers but... )

I like rayman DS but yea its most definetly the worst version

If they did somwthing like Mario 64 DS i think it would have been recieved better

Or they used the controlls the PS1 version had with the DPAD, which imo feel pretty good

Well I find this a very debatable topic, like I like a lot of the ports, it’s just that they all have some downs and all that. Well in my opinion I would say the PS2, Dreamcast and PC ports are the best, but it’s hard for me to decide which is the best, like I would’ve said the PS2 version if it didn’t have the dumb FPS issues, and I would’ve said Dreamcast or PC if the PS2 port didn’t have the extra content and enhanced graphics.

As for the worst version, well the PS1 version isn’t really that bad, it’s just that it had a lot of flaws and shitty unresponsive controls. But unlike the DS port and PS2 port it runs very well at 60 FPS. I haven’t played the 3DS version but it seems good apart from the glitches. Well I found out in some areas in the DS version, it actually runs at 60 FPS, I noticed it in the intro cutscene, some of the lava sanctuary, some minor areas in some levels and the cutscenes in the final level, which I got to say looks very impressive and cool for the DS. This port would’ve been actually ok if it wasn’t for the frame rate and shitty controls as well.

I have really no idea what could be the worst or best port as they all have their cons and pros.

Hmm, what are the chances a first-time player will find it anyway? Apparently, as of a year ago, we had one member who had found it themselves (of eight polled), so I guess it's not impossible: https://raymanpc.com/forum/attachments/1000th_lum-png.4845/
I for sure would never have found it myself. There's really no indication that there's something there, and it's quite a leap of faith (literally) since the water kills you.

Anyway, maybe we should add a poll to this topic?

Yeah, the way Super Mario 64 transitioned to DS was great, and I enjoyed that game. This game unfortunately didn't.

If you mean that touchscreen analog stick, this really wasn't a good idea. :P

Yeah, dunno what the purpose of that was for when the regular touchpad worked just fine. I guess that was the only way Ubisoft thought they could use the touchscreen at the time or something?

For some reason the dpad controls were still somehow bad, even though the PC only had 4 keys for controls too.

I definitely go with Rayman DS, unless Rayman 2 Forever counts.

He's probably thinking of R2 GBC then, that's the one that was criticised a lot for just reusing assets from R1 GBC. Even the music was the same for the most part if I recall correctly.
