Re: A guide to the theories, lore and conspiracies of the Rayman Dreamverse
This is impressive, although parts of it are hard to read. Did you come up with all those "conspiracy theories" yourself or does it include other ideas you've seen?
It's funny how you put "Griskin Genocide" right under "The Raypeople", since I have my own theory connecting the two which I came up with several years ago: https://raymanpc.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 20#p921720
In terms of the "Prototype Rabbids", I recall hearing that the official decision to turn RRR into a party game was made a matter of weeks before release (or at least before locking the source). So there's probably very little difference between the final game and this hypothetical prototype. It'd be interesting to know whether or not the cut maps / data still exist, and how well they worked. I get the impression that the decision was made because the devs were having lots of trouble making the traditional Rayman gameplay work and fit in with the minigames…
In terms of Phantasos, it was pointed out in the Rayman 2 Knowledge of the World that the landscape was shaped by Clark. While this is done at Polokus's behest, it seems to indicate that the landscape isn't directly controlled by any deity. Other than that, the "Dream of Greece" theory is intriguing.
Under "Multiverse", you say "Legends confirms alternate worlds". Does it really? I thought the paintings were just portals between different parts of the Glade, not really inter-universe gates. On the other hand, IIRC the Rayman 3 manual refers to the nine different levels in that game as "universes" – I took it as hyperbole, but it could also be taken as an even earlier affirmation of that theory…
Your theories connecting Mister Dark and Jano are interesting too, and got me thinking something else: what if Mister Dark and Jano are in fact one and the same?
Maybe Jano is his true name, known to only a few (Rayman, the nymphs, Polokus, etc.) and "Mister Dark" is a codename made known to the rest of the Glade's inhabitants (such as the Magician). Or it could also be a taboo-euphemism, like the Voldemort situation in Harry Potter. In that case, his transformation into a grotesque one-eyed monster could be taken as his punishment for stealing the Protoon, after Rayman neutralized him…
There's some other interesting stuff there, that I might have to think about a bit more…

Re: A guide to the theories, lore and conspiracies of the Rayman Dreamverse
I still wonder about Jano's apparent ambivalence towards Rayman. It seems as though Jano wants to kill Rayman, and of course he will do if you let him, but we have to assume canonically Rayman never actually dies in his adventure. Following the fight Jano presents Rayman with a test of character, rewarding him for his virtue and giving him what looks like his only reserve of elixir of life (which is conveniently stored on his staff (possibly at all times?)).
So I wonder if Jano is just rewarding Rayman for defeating him both in might and spirit, or if canonically it's all a test and Jano was never intending to kill Rayman, that just being a possibility for the sake of the game.
Maybe Jano is on Polokus' side the whole time, seeing as nightmares are scary but not necessarily evil.

Most of this I came up with, but some were theories I had heard.PluMGMK wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 8:30 pm This is impressive, although parts of it are hard to read. Did you come up with all those "conspiracy theories" yourself or does it include other ideas you've seen?

Had no idea about Clark shaping the Glade!
I think the paintings in Legends are universes because The Magician has extra versions of himself, and there are alternate characters who are copies of Rayman and globox and such

This reminds me of the iceberg picture that was posted in reddit (however this one is for memes):

An updated version of the Rayman Iceberg:

I have many questions, like why John Leguizamo is in the Forbidden Zone or why Globox is racist.

The Plumber Globox costume in Legends represents two John Leguizamo characters: Globox (Rayman 3) and Luigi (Super Mario Bros. movie)Elite Piranha wrote: Wed Aug 05, 2020 4:44 am An updated version of the Rayman Iceberg:

There's a rumor that Globox was not featured in the animated series because there was worry a fat, dumb, french frog would be seen as offensive. A similar thing happened with Pokemon earlier that year where Tracey replaced Brock because there was worry China would get offended by his eyes.

I was not aware of that rumor, thanks for the explanation.Thalia wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2020 8:48 pm The Plumber Globox costume in Legends represents two John Leguizamo characters: Globox (Rayman 3) and Luigi (Super Mario Bros. movie)

Re: A guide to the theories, lore and conspiracies of the Rayman Dreamverse
I know some theories
some of cast is acting normal like Murffy in both and Polokus The Bubble Dreamer in Legends but some like Rayman and Globox are dim-witted and psychotic since their smiles are “cuckoo crazy” they aren’t much expressive.
Maybe there is two Magicians (Mr. Dark and Ales Mansei) Since their hats have different designs. Mr. Dark wants to make the glade of the dreams a slapstick fest and Ales is making mechas to end this.

Re: A guide to the theories, lore and conspiracies of the Rayman Dreamverse
i never understood the fossilized robo pirates in the tomb of the ancients

They were most likely put there for atmosphere,
but it's still weird to me that an ancient tomb is home to what i assume to be invaders from space

You might be interested in this page, where we touched on that some years ago: viewtopic.php?p=916269#p916269
If you look at the Map of the Glade of Dreams, you'll see that the Tomb is over in the North-East, far away from all the other places visited in the game, and pretty close to the Prison Ship. So it's possible that the Pirates landed there first, set up a Technical Check-Up, and started burying robots that failed it (possibly due to problems on the journey from wherever they were previously). A bit prosaic, but it fits.

Re: A guide to the theories, lore and conspiracies of the Rayman Dreamverse
That is a very plausibile theory tbh, it's just funny how there's more than one razorbeard
It's also possibile that they crashed there, since there's a shipwreck in the level

Re: A guide to the theories, lore and conspiracies of the Rayman Dreamverse
That thing from the Tomb of the Ancients kind of looks like Razorbeard, like others had said before maybe it is just a model that was reused. Another interpretation is that it was a sign of Razorbeard's future demise or the remains of Razorbeard from a past life.

Re: A guide to the theories, lore and conspiracies of the Rayman Dreamverse
I mean, if they were going to reuse a model without significance, why that one? Why not Teensies, or maybe even Globox? No, this was surely deliberate, but it's difficult to figure out what it means…

That is what feels weird to me, it almost seems like the robo pirates have been in the glade of dreams before, or at the very least that there are multiple razorbeards, with the exception of his wife

I'm pretty sure that the developers never thought of a reason to put those models there, and only did it for the fun.
However, it's equally fun for us to make up theories about it.

Re: A guide to the theories, lore and conspiracies of the Rayman Dreamverse
Yeah, I doubt they considered it as deeply as we are, but it's still surely significant that they chose Razorbeard's model and not a native "Gladian's" (if I may invent a demonym!).
