First serious attempt at a 1.2x run. A lot went very smoothly, but still plenty to improve on.

Mod note: Run starts at 5:00

Additional details:
  • Game Speed: 1.2×

ECBSJs perform slightly differently on console vs emu. No idea why, it's a super slight difference too, but it is there. Loading the game with Nintendont also acts like emu.
Yeah, that's strange. Is it also the case for the other camera buffered tricks?

Run is somehow 30 fps.

That's true, maybe it reacts differently to the multiple presses of the look mode button then (this could be caused by the controller interface).
Do you mean that there could be a physical limit to the amount of presses per second on the actual console which is of course not present on emulator?

Yes, this is the idea. I'm probably wrong though...

And congrats Mark0v1c, making good progress here!

Highlights:
— Great CF
— Terrible Livid Dead Teensie Highway
— Finally got a fast DotK Reflux fight
— And then, four gold splits in a row… wow…

Audio was half a second off up until DotK4/5's cutscenes, where I finally fixed the delay on OBS.

Quite a coincidence, I actually just stumbled upon Misieuroo's stream on Twitch! Nice progress too, it's good to see some activity.

Not a very good run,
2 deaths + time lost with tries on the skips.

Not bad but can be very better

Additional details:
  • Game Speed: 1.0×

Why is it in German? Don't ask me.

Hi there! First time posting. It all comes down to personal preference which category a runner will play. Any% and No Major Glitches are both fun in their own way but attract a different kind of runner. Also during the biweekly races the community members can see whether or not they like to run certain categories.

— Big GLOD on Bog of Murk
— GLOD on Desert of the Knaaren
— Started playing safe after a level reset in Longest Shortcut, but kept gradually losing time from that moment on
— GLOD on Tower of the Leptys

My timer says 1:18:54, but after retiming the run in Premiere Pro, it looks like it is a 1:18:53.9 (up to a thirtieth of a second, which is less than 0.1 second). In fact, you can see me starting the timer a little too early.

Hi Mark0v1c and welcome to this place! :D Congrats on your steady progress lately, I watched your last Any% run and I thought it went really well at the time.

As for Any% versus No Major Glitches, it does indeed come down to preference! As someone who only watches runs, I find the latter more interesting, because like I said here, "most of the time [Any% is] just about getting OOB and heading to the level exit". Not that I mean to disparage Any%: it's extremely technical and some of the glitches are really hard to get, but I prefer to watch someone rush through the regular course of a level rather than attempt the same superjump dozens of times before eventually succeeding and flying through glitch world.

Since you're running both, what's your take on this? Do you have any preference from a runner's point of view? :o
