I think it's in Picture City, maybe against Space Mama?
dr_st wrote: Sat May 08, 2021 9:36 am For sure! It is my favorite level of the game by far. So long, with multiple passages and backtracking, atmospheric, challenging. Completing it for the first time with all lums and cages gives a tremendous sense of accomplishment. The main theme of this level is my ringtone.
You mean the one at the end of the level, when you awake Umber? I love it too, I remember listening to it a lot back in the days. I guess the fact that it's my favorite level as well probably helped a lot.
dr_st wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 8:47 pm No doubt about that. Always struck me as a bit off. I guess they just didn't feel the lore properly.
I wholeheartedly agree with this, most of the additions in this version are rather nice, either visually or gameplay-wise, but they just don't fit the spirit of the original version.

I mean the intro theme that plays at the beginning. I think it is called "Into the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire".

The Umber theme I really like as well, but it feels less "ringtone-y".

Anyways, I almost missed your answer. :)

Yes indeed. Both encounters actually.

Come to think about it - did we ever have a serious discussion whether Space Mama is one or two different people? I mean, the costume is totally different, as is the avatar next to the life bar!

Scoreboard
PluMGMK: 7 points
Hunchman801: 5 points
The Jonster: 3 points + Bonus
hoodlumsworld: 1 point
Elite Piranha: 1 point
lumgum: 1 point
Fifo: 1 point
CurlyBrace: 1 point
Steo: 1 point

Question 22: What is unique to the PC version of Rayman Arena, distinguishing it from Rayman M as well as the console versions?

Ok, the difference between Rayman Arena and M in PC versions is that in Rayman Arena (PC version) you can actually freeze your opponents in races by shooting freeze projectiles and it has its own cool down. Also in console version of Rayman Arena there's more bonus stages than in Rayman M and the bonus stages in Arena are Pac-Man level, matrix level with low gravity and one more matrix like level, also in console versions in combat mode in Arena un like in M the ammo of freeze projectiles in freeze combat mode and rubber bullets in Battle mode and tag lum mode is infinite.

Oh, that one! Indeed, it's a lot more suitable for a ringtone than the epic-sounding Umber theme.

Good question! I think it's always felt obvious to most people that they are the same character, having the same face, the same stature, and the same iconic rolling pin, and unlike Bzzit/Moskito, there's no difference in appearance across versions that further adds to the confusion, but hey, maybe it was Space Mama's younger sister all along.

But... but... the rolling pin actually looks different in both encounters! I mean, she could have changed it because Rayman broke the first one, but who knows? And why would you call someone who travels by pirate ship 'Space Mama'? :?: You have got to admit there is something to it! You absolutely have got to admit! :fou:

Hi Ilyaman,
I see I have botched up the question a bit... I really meant to ask about the single unique feature in the PC version of Rayman Arena, but I see that I did not phrase that clearly enough. :|

As far as I know - what you wrote is correct, but, the ice bullets are not unique to the PC - they also appear in the PS2 version and Rayman Rush (PSX version). And the extra stages are not in the PC version at all - only the Xbox/Gamecube console ports of Rayman Arena, as you mentioned.

Normally we have a one answer per question per user, but since I failed to make the question clear... if you amend your answer with the single unique feature in the PC version of Rayman Arena, you will get the point. :)

Hm, let me think, maybe on PC version of Rayman Arena there is a scraped (ingame/ingame files) yellow/blue costume for globox or not?)))

I think I know what you're talking about (Dark Globox? Not sure if the colors are right...), but that's not quite the answer I am looking for (it's hardly a feature).

It's very true, and I'm sure the question has crossed people's minds before. I guess the difference here is that there's no apparent "personality change" for people to get confused about. Also, there's a strong motif that she's an actor playing multiple characters throughout Picture City. Considering that, they're likely the same person, but that person's real name is not "Space Mama". Space Mama is just one of the characters she plays.

What about the Cabin Boys though? Are they the same actors encountered again and again on various frying pans, and in the first boss fight, or are there many people in Picture City with the same appearance?

For the question, it's playing over LAN, right?

I suppose that we would assume they are different creatures. If there are many Livingstones or Clowns, that all look the same, I don't see why there cannot be many inhabitants in Picture City.
PluMGMK wrote: Mon May 10, 2021 9:18 pmFor the question, it's playing over LAN, right?
Yep, 4-player local network game. Other versions only allow 2-player splitscreen with up to 2 more AI-controlled opponents.

Scoreboard

Question 23: In Rayman Jungle Run, what playable characters/costumes were introduced in an update?

Bonus Question 2: List all adversaries in Rayman 3 PC/console versions (including, but not limited to, bosses) which have visible life bars.

Hey, I wanted to say same. 😆

Main question: Teensies where included in an update with their costumes like green Teensie and gothic Teensie and/or may be if I can remember the adventures costumes was also included for Globox and Rayman if I can remember and even maybe for Teensies too.

And for bonus question: if I can remember 3 commercials with the Globox and Rayman, One commercial with only Rayman and shock rocket, 2 commercials with hoodlums join army (maybe) and each commercial (maybe except hoodlums join army one) with only Rayman and Rayman and Globox has it's own language versions like French English German and maybe Italian or Spanish. And also I can remember of the ski slope commercial one and Rayman in the toilet...

Not in Jungle Run...

"Adversaries" means "opponents". :D

I’m pretty sure for question 23, it’s Globox, Raymesis, and Raybox.

That is correct. Raymesis is referred to as "Dark Rayman" and Raybox simply as "Globox Costume".

Anyways, I feel like getting Jungle Run out of my system, so here is another one:

Question 24: In a fully updated version of Rayman Jungle Run, the last world is called what?

Bonus Question 2: List all adversaries in Rayman 3 PC/console versions (including, but not limited to, bosses) which have visible life bars.

Scoreboard

Bonus question-wise, I can think of Master Kaag, Begoniax, Razoff, the Heckler, Céloche, Reflux, the Lavomatrix, the Horrible Machine and Reflux's mutated forms.

Very good! I like how you arranged them in order of appearance. I guess it's easier to enumerate them this way. :) You left out the shoe, but it is up to debate whether it should be considered an adversary or not.

The Jonster got 2 straight points and should skip this question.
Question 25: In Rayman 1 PC version, if you are replaying Allegro Presto, and you start with 40 lives and 0 tings, beat the level without dying, collect all the tings, no extra lives and do not visit the bonus level - how many lives are you going to have at the end?
(Note: I say PC version, but it is probably the same in PSX and most other versions as well)

I remember Allegro Presto being a great place for life farming, but I'm not too sure how many Tings there are exactly so I'll hazard a guess and say you'll land on 43.

This is indeed how I did it. And I must admit I didn't think about the shoe!

Uhm... I don't want to give a hint that will give too much away, so I'll just say 'nope'.
