Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids - Prototype Restoration Mod
So, this happened to me in "Bunnies never struck gold":
With all these guys present at once, the game became so laggy that I hadn't a clue what was going on anymore, and then Rayman fell through the floor and died

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids - Prototype Restoration Mod
Yeah same thing happens in Bunnies Sometimes Recycle The Scenery From Other Games stage and also if you'll pause the game when the game begins to lag, Rayman will be falling underfloor earlier.
Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids - Prototype Restoration Mod
Yeah, this happens. Jade engine has very little memory that it can use for objects, and it seems both rabbids and items/weapons take up a lot of memory. When the game passes that memory limit it becomes laggy, things start to go wrong and you're pretty much guaranteed a crash when you change the map. Normally this never happens, but the mod of course forces the game to behave differently. I have yet to find a way around this memory limit.

Sorry for asking early about update but how the progress is going, Droolie?

Good luck on that, you'll sure need it and it will be super if you'll do that.

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids - Prototype Restoration Mod
I just can second that. You did some very good storytelling
So...is this the original minigame "Bunnies sometimes recycle scenery from other games" ?
or is it just a remix of jade engine games in general
Anyway...
Would like to know what the (ex-?) rabbid developers think of that. But reaching out to ubisoft might just cause trouble, if there would be any reaction. But maybe we can reach out to some developers in private to get anonymous reactions
About the second sheep...is it just another texture/material or does it also have a different behaviour?
I guess you already checked if there are other missing animals in RRR2?
Keep on rockin, Droolie!

I'm speechless! This is absolutely heroic work!
There's something very special about that swamp level when you put the Bayou music on it… Seeing proper platforming in the old Mine from BG&E is also very gratifying!

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids - Prototype Restoration Mod
Things are looking great! Can't wait for you to release the tools.
Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids - Prototype Restoration Mod
This is AWESOME! Maybe I'll try to recreate Rayman 4 When these tools come out! Your amazing Droolie! The tools look good enough for me though, can release a beta tonight or tommorow?

Well it's original mini game of rail shooter and 1 of great levels in proto restoration mod.)))MasterHero wrote: Thu Oct 14, 2021 8:25 pm So...is this the original minigame "Bunnies sometimes recycle scenery from other games" ?

Hm, It will be super great to receive not only anonymous reactions but also some extra help like sharing the proto stuff like if they have got from past times of development Rayman 4 scraped stuff like maps, scripts, scenario, music, early 3D models, and even original prototype.MasterHero wrote: Thu Oct 14, 2021 8:25 pm Anyway...

Incredible work Droolie, I never thought it would be possible to recover/recreate that much stuff.

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids - Prototype Restoration Mod
Very imaginative recreation, Droolie! It's a boon that so many assets can be reused from other games, and of course all the mechanics you've recovered help a lot. I take it you still have no idea where you're going with this, but it sure has a lot of potential!
Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids - Prototype Restoration Mod
Thanks everyone!
I've been working on it much more slowly now that the video is finished and will continue to do so for the time being. As I wrote in the video, the mods are a work in progress. They're far from finished, so don't expect any release anytime soon, especially not for the editor (which will probably not even be released in the next year).
Some of them are scared of Ubisoft taking action, but with RayTunes and Raymap being up for so long I don't think they care that much.
More than recreating anything the point of the video was to show the potential of Jade engine modding and 3D Rayman modding in general. I hope one day we will be able to do the same for OpenSpace (Rayman 2 and 3 engine) as well.

Some ex-RRR devs have expressed being happy to see their games being modded.MasterHero wrote: Thu Oct 14, 2021 8:25 pmWould like to know what the (ex-?) rabbid developers think of that. The brown variant is another model entirely. There are other animals in RRR2 but I think this is the only one that might have been completely cut from RRR1.MasterHero wrote: Thu Oct 14, 2021 8:25 pmAbout the second sheep...is it just another texture/material or does it also have a different behaviour?

The Ubisoft mafia has those devs scared for their lives, so you can forget about them giving out any information at all, let alone assets. :pIlyaman wrote: Fri Oct 15, 2021 11:35 amHm, It will be super great to receive not only anonymous reactions but also some extra help like sharing the proto stuff like if they have got from past times of development Rayman 4 scraped stuff like maps, scripts, scenario, music, early 3D models, and even original prototype.

That’s why it was mistake leaking unofficial open source fangame project top secret Rayman 1 HD by her Adsolution. She was very mad at me in deviantart.
Anyway for instance as an example creators of Duke Nukem Forever can’t mod even that game.

Have anything new to show us Droolie? Not trying to rush you btw. I take literally forever to release my own projects so I'm not one to talk.
I'm just genuinely excited for these tools! Can't wait to get my hands on em.

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids - Prototype Restoration Mod
Gee, this place sure's feels almost empty, well, as usual I have suggestions:
1. Fix FPS camera mode's speed, it seems too roughly and too fast if you literally speed up mouse scrolling.
2. Randomize Rayman's attacks (don't get me wrong I love original Rayman's moveset, it just will be perfect addition).
3. More dance movesets (still I love both classic and groove move sets, once again another addition).
4. That will be really hard but I also suggest to implement or port enemies from other Jade engine games into RRR.
5. And I also suggest to team up or at least ask or some help (if you really need) from team that restored the whole beta content in the Luigi's mansion.
Aaaaaand questions:
1. Here's one thing, Rayman has 1 HP for the whole game session that not reduces (even if you switch it to another mini game or even other game mode) but reduces after you quitted the game or Houston error. What's the secret of this mysterious 1 HP and Prototype HP system at all?
2. About prototype Rayman 4 ambient ost, what does FPP and P02 mean?

Ilyaman wrote: Mon Sep 13, 2021 1:32 pm Excellent work! Each ported map work is getting better and better, keep up! Also I have 1 year outdated but good news at the same time (sorry for Reddit stuff but still). https://www.reddit.com/r/Rayman/comment ... g_rabbits/
And Hunchman801, good luck on adding a new information on the Raywiki about RRR.
Ilyaman wrote: Thu Sep 16, 2021 1:12 pm Indeed, this also reminds me of dinosaur from Rayman 2 prototype and literally final version.
Fun Fact: the Rayman 2 prototype dinosaur also reappears in Rayman ReDesigner.
Edit: I also suggest saucers can attack option, also saucers can stuck in it's own collisions (like in bunnies sometimes recycles the scenery from other games stage when saucers can't fly higher than it's default hight or when they fly far away more than spawn place) I just suggest free from collisions like bat and eagle heave.
Also thank you so much guys for 1213, 1072 and 500 views in my pictures I appreciate it! ^^Ilyaman wrote: Fri Oct 01, 2021 1:08 pm Sorry, I just had misunderstanding here.
And also new old screenshot.
Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids - Prototype Restoration Mod
I don't have any updates at the moment, as I have not worked on this at all in months. I've lost motivation quite a bit as it seems there's (almost) nothing left to find.
2. FPP = First Playable Prototype. I assume P02 is Prototype 02, but I'm not sure about that one...
1. You're viewing the wrong debug info then, Rayman starts out with 100 HP and the amount that rabbid attacks reduce his HP can be changed with a setting in the prototype restoration mod. You can see this number appear whenever Rayman gets hit in my last video showing the modded levels.Ilyaman wrote: Thu Dec 16, 2021 11:41 am1.
