Yeah, I can't remember whether if it was the RIGHT or the SPEED command I added (think it was the later).

I was looking at a longplay and I saw when Rayman handed the magician tings when doing the challenge, it showed Antitoons. Are tings Antitoons, then?

It shows him handing over Electoons, right? It's a holdover from an earlier iteration of the game where Rayman collected them, I believe…

I guess you might be right. Oh, yeah, I said Anitoons, oops. :oops2: Actually, that would make sense that it would have been Rayman collecting Electoons earlier because I have a Rayman Jaguar poster which as an Electoon with a counter like as a collectible in one of the pictures. Anyways, I don't know how that would have worked. It seems a little weird if Electoons were in the place of Tings. Maybe, they would have been collected differently. That's interesting they left it in. Well, thanks for the response.

Btw I recently had Rayman crawl through an Antitoon in a confined space in Pencil Pentathlon part 2 (since I had plenty of health and I couldn't be bothered waiting for it to pass :P). Rayman took damage but there was no hurt animation, not even the sound he makes when he's hurt. I did something similar in Rayman Designer, and I noticed that they had added an animation for just such an occasion, so the whole thing felt more natural!

But also in Rayman Designer, I found that when Rayman got hurt just before (or after?) his fist connected with a Flying Ring, he again took damage, but with no knockback, animation or sound effect!

Y’know since you guys are talking about Antitoons, I want to talk about something interesting I’ve noticed between Rayman 1 and Rayman Junior. In Rayman 1 Rayman has to duck in order for his fist to be low enough to hit antitoons, but in Junior his fist can hit them without needing to duck.

That's only in certain versions of Junior (and possibly only under certain conditions? Not sure…). For some reason they made the collisions expand out to the full size of the sprite, so you can get hurt by a prickly even when you're clearly not touching it.

Chacanger's videos have indeed shown us that quite a few bugs were present in the original engine, even though it's not possible to trigger most of them in the game.

Do you remember for which versions it's the case?

I'm pretty sure it's the case for my copy of Maths & English with Rayman Volume 3 (the UK Focus Multimedia version), but I didn't notice it on my most recent playthrough. Before I managed to play through it using the EXE from Volume 1, but the most recent time I'm pretty sure I used the stock EXE but still didn't notice. I need to look into this a bit more… :mefiant:

Losing a life on a vine to an autoscroller allows you to perform some kind of "glidewalk":

This appears to be some state value not being overridden when it should, and I believe the underlying engine is the same for most versions besides Jaguar, so I suppose it does? In any case, it's probably the most game-breaking bug I can think of for that game.

It's amazing how such things are still found 27 years after release.

It's also amazing how we keep saying it's amazing how such things are still found 27 years after release.

I had no idea this existed! Amazing discovery!
Between this and the weird "small Rayman" bug, this game’s glitches can do plenty of incredible things!
