Excellent find! :D That sounds like it adds up all right, because treacherous slidey platforms are a big theme for Candy Château. I think the concept works fine without bottles…

Yeah that seems likely to be it! This sprite was only first added in the PC version (doesn't exist on PS1 or Jaguar) and the slopey platform type is only implemented in the PC versions, so makes a lot of sense they made it for this purpose! Nice!

Nice find, so those bottle caps were the mystery slopey platforms all along! Now it's probably a good idea to add them to the wiki, too. :D

I was going to suggest that. I've only done one edit back about 10+ years ago regarding a fangame so can't remember much about how you do it etc, unless someone else wants to do it?

I could do it if you'd like. Could you maybe take a screenshot (in native resolution) of Rayman standing on one of those platforms you placed out? That would help a lot for the wiki article! Preferably with the platform he's standing on tilted, while other ones can be seen normally to showcase its behavior.

It was a bit tricky to get good screenshots of them due to the size of the sprites and because Rayman kept sliding off. However I've zipped the best ones below...

Thanks! I've added it here now :) I might see if I can update the article a bit more soon as well. I made some new discoveries I posted on Twitter a while back which would be worth to include there, as well as expanding on some things I wrote before which there has since been more clarity on.

Looks good, is it worth editing the unused objects bit further up where it says TYPE_SLOPEY_PLAT (254) - unused behavior (DO_SLOPEY_PLAT_CMD) to link to that new bit?

Yeah, I noticed some other stuff as well, there's some other sprites such as this angry red lens gun that the hunter would have used...

The Candy Chateau object with a tongue has 2 other components...

It also seems that there were 2 unlisted unused object types (In bold)...
  • TYPE_BB1_VIT - Mr Stone Chase (Speed)
  • TYPE_BB1 - Mr Stone Boss
  • TYPE_BB12 - Mr Stone Chase (Right)
  • TYPE_BB13 - Mr Stone Chase (Left)
  • TYPE_BB14 - Mr Stone Turret (Right)

Yeah, I'm planning to rewrite that with more information to make it clearer what those types are for and what they do.

Ah, nice! I had found those Mr Stone types before, but must have forgotten about them when writing the list for the wiki. I'll add those too!

Thank you Chacanger for the image and RayCarrot for the article! I very much look forward to seeing it updated with all your latest findings. There's been so many discoveries about this game and RayWiki is probably the best place to compile them for all fans to see. :D

Creepy, right? 😂

Two breakout balls cause the game to be much faster? Could it be that the code is running twice and therefore the game is running at twice the speed?

As for little Bzzit, I'm not surprised that it causes a bug, but I have no idea why it keeps corrupting the game after that. :fou2:

When I read "cursed", "shrink" and "Bzzit" in the same sentence, I assumed it was something like what happens from 3:20 in this video:
But it's actually way worse! :fou2: I guess it's usual for glitches in Designer to be way worse in the original game, which was a lot less bombproof…

At one point when I tried it Rayman said "I'm waiting!" whilst he was bouncing around like a ping pong ball around the level.
