Rayman 4 (early Rayman Raving Rabbids)

Yeah, it's really epic. I'm glad that we could see this. What a nice Christmas present lol. I actually first heard of this from a certain person on YouTube and it looks pretty dang neat. I like the tone that I think they were going for in this game. Although, I wish that Rayman didn't exactly have some of his powers as they don't represent Rayman the most. I like the open-world kind of thing and I like the font of the health and think it went nicely even if it may not have been going to be final. :o

If they had that spider segment, and used that music, (I know the prototype music of the spider was actually an actual copyrighted song, as was a lot of the prototype ost), that would be so epic. (Btw, I didn't see footage of it, but that picture and stuff combination is so cool.)

But, it's okay that we didn't get this game. It's kind of cool to discover things.

HOLD UP, THEY HAD VIDEOS OF THIS AND NOW, THEY'RE GONE. IS THAT THEM OR IS THAT UBISOFT? It actually looks like it's set to private. Well, I've already seen them luckily, at least partially, like soon before it happened. :confus:

It looks like they want to be careful at least for the time being, I guess, which is probably a good choice. :| Amendment: This may have been said after I asked them as they said that that was why.

Also, here's my liked videos playlist with unavailable videos: (I must have like just one of them)

Hiya,

yes sorry, I am careful just in case Ubisoft is after me for showing video material of the leak. I have them unlisted on Youtube but share them here.

Oh boy. It sure looks like that the entirety of the E3 demo is hiding away in there!
With event triggers, effect markers and everything! I can't believe I'm alive to see this! I can't believe that we actually have all this now!

This was actually really cool to wake up to. I almost thought it was a joke at first!

Was there a playable E3 demo you know about? Honestly, this game was looking pretty good.
Playable? Good question. There's a bunch of semi-functioning test areas among the files, some of them apparently even have somewhat functioning objective based gameplay in them, but aside the E3 files/resources of the trailers, most of these were probably for internal use only. The "eagle riding in gear cave" area has multiple levels with corresponding enemy placements and platforming added to them. One of these maps has lava flows in it, possibly suggesting that we were meant to traverse this location extensively, exploring it deeper and deeper.

Oh, yeah, I edited part of that out earlier. Anyways, thanks for the info. This whole thing has cause quite the buzz.

So, I don't know, did this game have levels? Was it just something where you progressed? Wow! :D

Maybe, they hadn't figured that out, yet.

There must have been levels for sure, it was supposed to be story-driven with André and his girlfriend and all that. I don't see anything new here in terms of mechanics beyond what's known from Droolie's mod (apart from Rayman, ahem, losing his shirt – how sure are we that this wasn't a prank by the leaker? :mefiant:), but it's beyond cool that some of the actual maps are now available! :D

Now all we need is someone to leak that Astro_20 map from Rayman 2

To finish this off for once and for all, a anonymous 4chan user just dumped the Rayman 4 prototype source code.

This is incredible to see!
I'll definitely have to give these watch, it'd be fascinating to see this prototype in action!
I always liked the first RR for its unique atmosphere/artstyle (and for being able to throw screaming bunnies at things :hinhin:). Then again I grew up having seen the ads/ytps for it and Rayman 3. It'll be very interesting to finally see what the original Rayman 4 started out as!

I wonder if the source code and test levels will be playable on the Rayman Control Panel, like the rest of the prototype findings?

Guess what? Rayomz was already a thing in the Rayman 4 prototype:

Here's a video of some test cutscenes:

And fully playable gameplay of a Rabbid base under a waterfall, complete with enemies:

Some of them look like mini-Sergueïs...
