Alright... I found that thread and want to tell you my unpopular opinions.
First one I thing is about not canon thing... I noticed that many artists draw Betilla x Ales Mansay/Magician shippering. I don't like that shippering like most another. This is because... Not even because of canonicity, but because of the following reasons:
1. Some consider this to be canon because the Magician said at the Rayman Activity Center that she is his "favorite fairy". By the same logic, one could generally canonize Betilla's ship with the Clown in Love, who performed love songs in the same game!
2. I don't like headcanons, the authors of which say that Ales did a lot of bad things just to somehow win Betilla's love. But due to the fact that he contacted dubious personalities / began to get involved in dark magic, he became a villain ... And after that, he still becomes "good", and Betilla forgives him all his sins! To me, that's like justifying war crimes.
3. An artist named ShaloneSK... Also known as Shalon Howard... I once saw her art long before I started to recognize many of the original art authors, which I saw for the first time somewhere in 2017-18... Recently I came across her other Rayman art and ... I wish I hadn't seen this...
In addition to art, she had a lot of comics. The first serial comics were "Give and Take" and "A Little Gift". It was they who caused me more hostility both to the ship and to the artist. In short, the first comic was about how Ales (here he is Teensy, if anything) tried to steal Lums from Betilla for some reason. To do this, he sent her a letter about meeting with her. He even gave her flowers. He thus played on her feelings, but the good thing is that his plan is interrupted because of Rayman. Betilla shouldn't have let him escape...
The second is a continue of the previous comics. Here Betilla, after putting Rayman to bed, left her house to visit Ales. They start a dialogue, after which Ales says that he allegedly does not play on her feelings and loves her. And after that, Betilla stays with him and... She drinks with him in bed, having fun... Well, I saw the details on her furaffinity. Then there are moments where she, after such a fun night with the Magician, sent a letter to her sisters about this, and ... Well, they were in awe, to put it mildly (ME TOO!!!), but still they supported their sister. Betilla then didn't keep her word about telling Ray that she was pregnant, and... she SAID ABOUT THIS ONLY AFTER WHEN SHE STARTED IN TRAINS!!! HER SISTERS AND DAMN EVEN MEDICINES CAME TO HELP HER HAVE A BABY!!! THAT'S HOW CORDELLA WERE BORN IN THE WORLD!!! TEENSIE FAIRY THAT LOOK SO WEIRD!!!... ALL THAT STORY LOOKS LIKE LORD FARQUAD GOT HIS PLAN!!! TAKE PRINCESS FIONA AS A WIFE, BECOME THE KING OF DILOK, AND SHREK STARTED CRYING FURTHER, AND FAR NOT BECAUSE OF THE ONION!!!
3.1. I analyzed the comic further and... Well, taking into account many inconsistencies, I came to the conclusion that Ales here did not at all try to change for the better for her sake. That's why it turns out that in the headcanon Betilla fell in love with Ales not as he was before (limbless from R1), but who he became. And besides, he did not change for the better after that. Not to mention the fact that Ales continued to play on her feelings, and very easily took advantage of her when she was drunk.
Ironic thing here is that about these two comics (well, and some art, of course) NO ONE DID ANY DISCUSSION / DISCUSSION ON THE INTERNET !!! Yes, and some other artists have a positive attitude towards it. But this is a pron artist who is known for her toxicity and attempts to violate copyrights with the most cunning and brazen methods...
