Unpopular opinions on Rayman

I don't think "nerfing" or "buffing" characters was a problem for the developers, I mean Razorbeard with his peg leg should walk really slow, but in the game he can be as fast as the others; you could also point out that the Henchmen can achieve higher jumps that their tiny admiral.

To this day the replacement of Ly with Tily still intringues me. Maybe the people behind the game were aiming at a certain demographic and they decided that a character like Tily would be better to please that audience (I have no idea :confus:).

Maybe they decided to add a new character but wanted to get one of the characters replaced. But if that was the case idk why they chose Ly and not Ms Razorbeard

It’s probably going to be one of those many unsolved mysteries of the Rayman franchise, but I think all would be forgiven for me if I just got to see Ly in another game again, haha! :hap: Good point with how Razorbeard is still in the game despite his shortcomings

UUUGH. You just reminded me that Razorwife is in there besides Ly. Why?! WHY?! She can go opera sing in the middle of traffic :pascontent:

Sad how most rayman characters appear in one game and never got seen again, but yeah I’d also like seeing ly again :hap:

Yeah… I think my main complaint about Rayman 3 is just that so many characters did not return. The world feels a little empty without Globox babies and the others

I knooow! And to hear their little squeaky steps hahaha. It really would have helped with the overarching story to have the characters reoccur as well. Now the timeline feels so disjointed and almost beyond repair

I know what you mean, but this is kinda off topic I think the globox baby voiceacting in revolution was annoying af and didn’t fit the characters one bit

I thought “that’s technically not off topic” but then I realized this is for unpopular Rayman opinions and I know for a FACT most people found them annoying too Haha. Honestly the overall voice acting and sound mixing for Revolution was a mixed bag. All the voices were so echoed and the default mixing made the music so loud and the voices so quiet! It was such a mess!

I actually don’t think the PS1 voice acting was that bad, I found it actually fit the tone of the game quite well just everyone likes to poke at it for “being too cheesy” which I don’t see :mefiant:

I think it has just the right amount of cheese for a Rayman game. It’s fun and carefree and there’s nothing wrong with that! But I found that the effects on said voice acting are what were bad, not the voice acting itself.

Speaking of which, that actually leads me to another unpopular opinion my friends have had. Some have said they don’t like David Gasman’s performance as Rayman. I wonder if anyone else shares this sentiment? The reasoning one of my friends gave us that his delivery wasn’t the best. I personally love Gasman, but I’d love other thoughts on it!

Right? He’s got that perfect amount of nasal in his voice where it isn’t annoying but it suits the big nose haha
