If you had to choose anyone to be the main antagonist for the rest of the Rayman series, who'd it be?

The end of the game certainly gives that impression, but thinking about it, you have to wonder if the inhabitants of the Glade decided to put any measures in place to stop it happening again, after they finished that night's sleep…
That ending does have some curious implications... Like, could another Hoodlum havoc ( :P ) start at any time if any random Red Lum could happen to be scared?
That also makes me wonder if any Red Lum has the potential to become a "master" like André, or if Rayman happened by some extreme bad luck to turn that one specific Red Lum which he really shouldn't have turned into a Black one...

That's a very interesting thought actually! Maybe any other Red Lum would have just turned into one of those drones, and decayed back to its natural Red state once the fright wore off…

Also, we never find out where the name André comes from, it's just the Manual reminds Murfy to say it and that's that…

For the sake of the Glade, that's hopefully what would happen otherwise the Black Lums could wreck the whole world everyday!
That ending just raised so many questions for me as a kid and it still does now! Also, another thing I've always wondered is how do they operate their bodies when they become Hoodlums? Do they have a controller in there, or something? :hap:
And who knows how the Black Lums made André's gun out of that animal's fur in the intro :noel:

The fourth wall is stronger than everything. :P
It's still crazy that they picked *that name* for the main villain, but it sure perfectly suits the tone they ended up going with in the final game!

Exactly. I know the Glade is a zany place, but if such a thing happened in real life people would be demanding the Government take steps to make sure it never happened again. I wouldn't be surprised if there were resignations! Hey, maybe that's why Ly was never seen again, and Betilla mysteriously reappeared…

It gets weirder when you realize most of them have no arms! I vaguely remember I used to think it was something to do with them blowing air to keep the bodies upright, and "somehow" redirecting the flow to make the arms and legs move…

Damn, I never thought of that! Now I have another enigma to chew over!

So, that's why Ly quit and became a gamer 8).

About how Black Lums operate their hoodlum bodies, I always thought they were possessing the suits and controlling them with their minds.

I guess that makes the most sense, although they're not portrayed as having particularly powerful minds :fou:

I think Jano from the Cave of Bad Dreams could have potential as a main antagonist.

Thought about some good ol' backstabbing action where one of Rayman's allies like Ly becomes an enemy, but I feel like that would at best work as a one-off; after the initial shock factor wears off, Ly/Betilla/Clark/whoever would probably lose their appeal as main antagonists for future titles.

Why is it that all the villains get away? Not just in rayman but like in every single piece of media

I mean, if you get away, you can keep going with your evil plan of taking over/destroying the world whatever. If you don't, the hero will make sure you can't execute any of your goals forever.
...That and the marketing team wanting you to easily return later for the easy nostalgic money whenever needed. :hehe:
(Too bad Ubi forgot about the second half of the easy money plan :hap: )

That’s a very smart marketing plan if I say so myself
