When did you first visit RPC?

I cant exactly remember when but i found it through the wiki. btw i appreciate the wiki very much, most reasons starting with "unlike fandom,"

its just super cool there still being a good wiki around, feels way more passionate

Thanks, our members have indeed put an incredible amount of work into the wiki and the fact that it's always been independent, and therefore run by the fans, for the fans, certainly prevented financial considerations from getting in the way of the community's best interests, as is often the case with commercial wiki farms.

Although I joined recently, I already knew about the existence of this forum. Without remembering exactly the date, I remember I was looking for info about Rayman and I came across this forum, although it had a quite different aesthetic... It had a black background and in the "Who's online" section there was an image of the Rayman model in Rayman 1 next to the users online. I don't know what year it would be, probably 2006/2007.

I revisited RPC in 2012/2013, when on a Spanish videogames news page they announced that a person was making a fangame. That's when I saw Adsolution's Rayman: Revenge of the Dark project. And the last time I visited it before creating an account was because of the Rayman Alive event, which was what finally encouraged me to make an account. Better late than never, I guess.

It's impressive that you remember the look of the forum from such a long time ago! In case you're curious, the RPC article on RayWiki has a screenshot of that older design. But you might already have seen it, given that you're been a great help with the wiki so far.

Photographic memory goes brr . I hadn't noticed that there was a screenshot. Yes, that's definitely the design.

Seeing that kind of old stuff brings back some pretty nice memories when I used to play the Rayman games back in the past. I insist, I'm quite happy to be part of the community and to see that there are such active and talented people almost 20 years later, it's just brutal.

I stumbled apon the forums by finding the Rayman Origins speedrunning topic, and saw Hunchman call my thumbnails intresting. I would go on to join because of that.

Sarcasm aside, I first found it thanks to Matyuv advertising the forums on Raymanzone. Obviously, he was reprimanded, and sure, maybe he was doing some illegal advertising, but I always like to give things a fair chance. So I checked out the boards, and they were much cooler than Raymanzone, and less strict. Now, that may make you wonder, when did I first visit Raymanzone? That would be a good question, I don't remember. However, I do remember how I got there. After playing Rayman 2, I read the manual advertising the website. I therefore, checked it out, and was astonished to see real people, posting messages online! It was so cool! For some young people nowadays, it's the norm to be talking online, this was a first for me, and probably others. Although I first was able to consistently access the internet in 2005.

Honestly that's how I felt when I first came across the Internet, back in the days of Windows Live Messenger when I used to be active on Afterdawn. Those were the days, and yeah people nowadays are already doing these things from a young age, where to us it was exciting and ground breaking to be able to do these things.

This is definitely how I felt when I joined my first online forums too, around the same time. RaymanZone was the first one I was heavily involved in, but before that I remember posting on Philippe317's French-speaking Rayman forum (I think the website was called "Le monde de Rayman"), and being a noob on a Nintendo-related (I think?) forum, also in French, which I can only assume I joined because of Golden Sun... I'm having trouble remembering, it's been a while after all.
