I'm sorry for stepping in like this, but I have a genuine question: what exactly "Ly community" and just Ly fans did? 
I'm just curious and confused, since I never saw them behaving like that, but I have seen that behaviour from Betilla fans and Magician fans in the past, and I'm speaking as a fan of both characters.

imo ly is the best one for various reasons: she has a fun and zany design even for a humanoid fairy, she has catlike attributes like the tail and the long eyes while not being the usual catgirl design, she has a very magical voice too making her stand out more. plus even if not much, out of all the female rayman characters she's the one that has the most personality and more involvement in the story
and monik isn't ugly at all, plus her design is really cool, a hoodlum fairy sounds super interesting and it's a shame that we never got to see the finalized one

lol it’s fine no worries. The Ly community is let’s say a diehard group of ly fans. Not really any on here but searching up “Ly fanart” you’ll find loads of names. There’s nothing wrong with liking Ly but some fans can get a bit… you know at times

However, I have another question now, as I'm slightly confused about one thing: what do you exactly mean by "names"?
I have searched up for "Ly Fanart", but from what I saw, it's fanart of her and a bit of RayLy stuff, but not the names you talked about.
It's just from my experience in the community I saw that behaviour more from Betilla fans or Magician fans than from Ly fans

Well... I think we all talk about very different people who like Ly the Fairy. Of course "Ly community" isn't here. But I know some people that like her was very nasty for me. Mostly I think this way because of negative experiences with some artists. I won’t point out specific people and what they did, so as not to offend anyone here, but I didn’t like some people because they showed Ly’s relationship with Rayman, and sometimes it looked either crap or lustful, and others because they considered Rayman’s thorn and Ly "canon". Most I didn't like last one. They considered it "canon" precisely because, you see, the concept art depicted them as a couple. But in the game, Ly herself was the same assistant as Betilla, who gave Rayman new abilities. For me, Lee, at most, can be something like a spiritual sister, but definitely not Rayman’s girlfriend... Well, let the art live. For most fans, they are harmless and not as terrible as all the work of RayWind and ShaloneSK.
Uhmm... I have a question. We haven't broken these rules yet, right? I just don't want this situation to happen. Moreover, as a moderator of a Russian forum, I want to maintain order so that there are no misunderstandings and everything else. If we violated it, subject me alone to the appropriate punishments, because in essence this discussion began with me, so it is I who must sort it all out, bearing responsibility for the current situation.

I mentioned the second point because the topic was slowly turning into a Discord chat. We've discussed many times that we're trying not to be discord.
Regarding the first point, I say it because I'm not liking this "Ly community" thing at all. Honestly, I have no idea what that "Ly community" is. If you've had issues in the past with people from that "Ly community," it's best to try to avoid them and ignore nonsense. But please, let's not spoil the topic with that kind of stuff when, for now (and I hope it stays that way), everyone is being respectful and trying to express their opinions appropriately. People can have their reasons for liking Ly or other fairies, but what cannot happen is immediately bringing up the "Ly community" when someone is posting their opinion innocently. I insist on this because this ain't the first time I've seen that Ly Community thing.
I'd also like to say that this isn't anything personal against anyone in particular and it may be a misunderstanding (just because my name is orange doesn't mean I'm right about everything), but that's my feeling after reading all the posts (including the deleted ones).

Same here! I would have voted for Betilla if she'd only appeared in the original game, but since I'm not a huge fan of the nymphs' design, my vote goes for Ly.Personally I prefer Betilla's original look, so there. Fight me.
Not that I could be considered part of this "Ly community" some people have mentioned here... I actually think she looks a bit... sil-Ly at times.

Alright. Well, I don't want to discuss more what we told before. I talk about love and hate fairies. I'm not going to make drama, so... I just left vote for Betilla and try to not have problems in RPC and allow all rules of this site (not only because I have blue nickname, but because I am member of community that I love)

I would go for Ly technically for the same reason as Hunch. It's up to people who they like though and each is entitled to their own opinion. Nobody should be judgemental over who likes what, and everyone should just get on with their day.

For me, the best Rayman girls will always be Ly and the original Betilla. The two of them had much more impact in their respective games than any other female characters do in future installments, and I just adore their designs in general. They both feel like they were made with the concept of mythical dream beings in mind, whereas the Ubiart nymphs feel like they were specifically designed to show off their bodies. People can definitely have a taste for characters like that, and that's fine, but in terms of a dream world I really do feel like OG Betilla and Ly suit that concept better.
I quite liked the concept of Monik as well, so she is definitely up there. Could be biased because I'm also a goth, though I just think a sexy design works in that case because she is a funny juxtaposition to André who is just a nasty, tiny, loose-lipped soot ball. Hahaha

For the record, I don't think you did anything wrong! I've only seen you explain your opinion respectfully, and I think the idea was just to focus the conversation more on the fairies themselves than on the idiots outside of this community that try to force their opinions on others.

I wouldn't have expressed the idea better... I really believe both Betilla (Rayman 1) and Ly, even if they have the same powers/roles other nymphs have, they suit better in Rayman's universe precisely because they seem more "magical".
And yeah, Hunch clearly summarized the whole point of the previous message. As it's a legit and respectful opinion it will be fine, no matter which fairy do you prefer

Yeah, that's essentially why I said it's better to just respect opinions and get on with your day, rather than try force an opinion by comparing who's "better" and arguing with counter points. If a person likes X for Y reason, regardless as to how silly the Y reasoning may sound, who even cares?
A civil debate is completely fine, but let others have their own opinions without prodding / provoking them.

I was just very confused about that, since from my experience with the community I didn't see people behaving like that (from Ly fans' side), so that's why I decided to ask about it.
I personally don't mind RayLy and any other ships here (unless it's problematic or questionable one), as long as people are okay with it and don't force others to.
For me Ly can be as like big sister to Rayman or a girlfriend to him too, but it's just my personal opinion about her and Rayman's relationship.

I personally also love original Betilla and Ly, but it was really hard for me to decide for this poll, so I had some hard time to decide which I should vote for Ly or Betilla.
And then I decided to vote for Betilla, as I still love her original appearance, it felt more magical and whimsical in comparison of Origins, and it was also more unique design for the fairy as well. And just in general it fitted into her role more in my opinion.
And I liked Monik, she's pretty interesting and intriguing, but it's a shame that her design didn't get finished because of changes in the development, ultimately getting her scrapped.

I share pretty much the same opinions! I also ended up voting for Ly too despite having a slight preference for the original Betilla...
Nothing felt quite as satisfying and wondrous as getting through a tough level like Mr Stone's Peaks, and suddenly hearing that magical uplifting music and seeing the game's most reassuring and magical character telling you you're gonna be able to do new awesome things with Rayman's abilities!
...And then Origins came out, and I got incredibly confused when I saw her and found out she was meant to be *Betilla* (
), and I briefly wondered after freeing her if I didn't accidentally bought a 18+ parody of Rayman and got uncomfortable at the possibility of a relative suddenly barging into the room at that exact moment. Honestly, I much prefer the enchanting nature of unique magical characters who actually fit Rayman's dreamy world, rather than the DArt/R34 fuel the Internet got with the nymphs replacing the fairies out of nowhere
(But hey, if you prefer the nymphs or if that's anyone's thing, more power to you 
)It's honestly sad how she got reduced to a statue easter egg in both M and Rayman 3 and then went completely forgotten... I can understand technical reasons for her not being implemented in Arena, but it still feels so underwhelming when she was the racing-themed character in Rayman 2 through the Walk of Life and Power.
Well, at least she got a few role in the GBA games and in... *holds back laughter*... Rayman 2 Forever.
