< wonders if ^ means like lunch specials, for example? Like lunch time might have a special deal for certain menu items?Master wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 4:51 pm < doesn't supposes they do meal deals at the town express by any chance where ^'s at?

Re: The You Game!
Sorta, the local minimarkets and supermarkets do prepackaged sandwiches + crisp + drink combos. < doesn't think they're lunch specials tho, as they're all day.

^^^^ could show us ^^^^'s lunch if ^^^^ finally cooks something
Re: The You Game!
< still thinks the likes of Tesco and Lidl are the cheaper places here. Weirdly, Lidl isn't even that cheap in Sweden. < guesses they kind of just set prices for things over there.

< Will say that mostly depends on the store more than anything. Some places do offer such a thing, but I think location is key here.Master wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 4:57 pm Sorta, the local minimarkets and supermarkets do prepackaged sandwiches + crisp + drink combos. < doesn't think they're lunch specials tho, as they're all day.

Re: The You Game!
Ahh ok, <'s pretty sure the majority of supermarkets do it here, so < would assume a similar situation for ^, but < knows there's differences in how places operate, so perhaps not.
Re: The You Game!
< actually wonders if other countries do the recycling deposit thing? Sweden has always done it, but Ireland started doing it too. Basically, you have to pay a deposit for cans and bottles, then you get the deposit back when you return them.

< does find it fascinating on the difference between the supermarkets and restaurants between the US and other countries. Though typically things in other countries are healthier than they are here.

<'s never heard of that sort of initiative, most <'s seen is having recycling receptacles for bottles and cans in supermarket car parks, but never some form of financial incentive.Steo wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 5:16 pm < actually wonders if other countries do the recycling deposit thing? < thinks it's not bad, but only useful if you're taking some grammar lessons on the side. At least that's the case for Russian, which has complicated grammar.

How did I never think of that before?
< could probably do it again, but < would have to get up really late on Friday, and have nothing planned on Sunday, and that's easier said than done!Steo wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 4:27 pm < can't even believe that < done 3 all-nighters still. < would never manage that now. < still stays up late but < can literally not function without some sleep.![]()

< has a smartphone with email but also has to update the time on <'s watch twice a year

< does bothHunchman801 wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 9:31 am Of <'s two grandparents who are still with us, the situation is the same! <'s grandma uses a smartphone with email and all sorts of apps, while <'s granddad still needs us to update the time on his watch twice a year.
< knows what that is without clicking, and agrees

<'s friend uses Duolingo and he's been learning Japanese. < isn't sure how it is for the other languages, but he does his daily lessons and is motivated by their ranking system.Pirez wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 2:42 pm < is considering Duolingo. Is it any good
Also < won't be doing japanese but rather finally getting fluent in german and then most likely spanish.

Wow, didn’t realise I was accidentally referencing a hacker group that got RZ taken down

Re: The You Game!
Ireland never had it before, but < thought it was interesting that Sweden did. Then even said it would be interesting if Ireland had it (since < often sees a lot of litter), then was surprised that they actually introduced it. It's a bit silly though how the closest one to < is around 2km, and < doesn't have a car, so < has to walk down the canal with bags.Master wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 5:20 pm <'s never heard of that sort of initiative, most <'s seen is having recycling receptacles for bottles and cans in supermarket car parks, but never some form of financial incentive.
