Maybe I'll break my record next year. Now, I'll disappear into the woods again. I'm on Discord, so you might see me there.

Can't wait to see all the statisticians out there crunching the numbers!

I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the results.PluMGMK wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 11:55 pmAha, I did it again!Hunchman801 wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 11:10 pm 10. PluMGMK: 170 (4050 Tings)

I wonder how much the other record days would go down if the spam was filtered out

I know right? Here I was so close to 500, myself! Three away! Oh well, I was close enough.

There's always next year, hopefully someone will kindly remind me again for it.

I actually chose to finish on 915 because it’s a cool number. 911 is still cool though

Re: 19th Edition of Record Day - August the 17th, 2024
Well if we chose to filter out all the spam on previous record days, I'm pretty sure all those records in the mid 2010s up to 2018 would definitely be much lower and more attainable to surpass! So really, perhaps instead of stating "32k posts" each time the RD thread is posted, we should go with the year that has the highest amount of posts, disregarding spam. But that would probably be hard to do tbh. Can you imagine having to filter through years of posts for spam posts? That includes locked topics, of course!Greengoop wrote: Mon Aug 19, 2024 7:56 am I wonder how much the other record days would go down if the spam was filtered out

Re: 19th Edition of Record Day - August the 17th, 2024
I’m sure if todays post quality standards were imposed in 2015, that record day could’ve barely reached 10k
I believe when I started was the tail end of the old standards, as I could still get away with 1 word posts (or maybe I made so many nobody bothered checking through them
)

Re: 19th Edition of Record Day - August the 17th, 2024
Nah, I'm certain that today's posting quality standards would still be able to achieve greater than 10k overall, provided there were enough active members and a few more participating with allnighters.
I'm still pleased to have first place in one of the past Record Day events, and at least one allnighter. Even if we don't manage something incredibly intense, we all still had a great time here, at least I did.

I bet sometime in the future I’ll get first, but I’m fine having the highest average posts per day. I’m also pleased that this place is still active after RD

I’ll try my best. Also to be fair, I still managed to beat my record by 199 (grr) points without including spamming, and I’m sure I couldn’t have done that last year

Re: 19th Edition of Record Day - August the 17th, 2024
And look, this year you haven't posted many spammy posts and you've beaten your mark!Greengoop wrote: Mon Aug 19, 2024 6:47 pm I’m sure if todays post quality standards were imposed in 2015, that record day could’ve barely reached 10kI believe when I started was the tail end of the old standards, as I could still get away with 1 word posts (or maybe I made so many nobody bothered checking through them

Perhaps the realistic mark that can be reached with a lot of activity (many more people participating and many more people doing the 24h challenge non-stop) is 10000 posts (and I still believe we wouldn't). Beyond that? Very difficult (not to say impossible) if you don't use spam or bots. Now, I'd rather have realistic results than inflated statistics!
I don't think I'll ever be an all-nighter. If I haven't done it this year nor last year, I highly doubt I'll do it in the future.

I don't recall the exact amount of tings you get for that exact bonus, but here's the list of results with the total posts and Tings:

iirc, you get 1500 extra tings. They're already included in that list.

Well, the Tings have been distributed! Thanks again to all of you for participating.

We could certainly choose to alter the wording of the header! I'm open to any suggestions you might have. The Jonster wrote: Mon Aug 19, 2024 6:44 pm Well if we chose to filter out all the spam on previous record days, I'm pretty sure all those records in the mid 2010s up to 2018 would definitely be much lower and more attainable to surpass! Wrong. You're a still a nugget.
