Did Harris have specific, meaningful plans regarding climate change?
Maybe it's a failure of communication, or I wasn't paying attention, but I'm not sure if she had specific, meaningful plans regarding anything
No, but she would most likely stay in the Paris agreement, which trump probably won’t. To be honest, I doubt it’ll affect us in the UK nearly as much as it will them over in the United States
Yes, it seems like the US will be in and out of the Paris agreement like a fiddler's elbow! That's definitely not good for prospects of implementation, and I guess even if it were consistently implemented, it probably doesn't go far enough…
I guess Trump has shown some changeability in his mind, sometimes. I wonder if someone could actually convince him that the environment is important. Feels unlikely, but I guess you never know
I don't know what 2025 holds (
if it holds anything at all
) but I'm finding it hard not to be depressed at the result. The strong feeling of
déjà vu for 2016, waking up to news of a Republican "slam dunk", brings back the shock and emptiness I felt then, even if I was basically expecting it this time. I can't help feeling "we're not really going back there again, are we?" especially with the climate and biodiversity crises somehow even more urgent now than they were then.

I guess any environmental progress over the next few years will happen despite politics, rather than with its help. That's… not a recipe for success…
