Re: The Pirate-Community Documentary
Why don’t we include the data returning for the documentary also?

Re: The Pirate-Community Documentary
As a follow-up on the recent technical incident, I just wanted to let everyone know that the website was moved from the temporary server to its new one 8 days ago and that, as you can guess from the lack of problems since, everything went smoothly. This time, I documented the deployment process more thoroughly so as to further reduce the downtime in case of a forced, unplanned move like the one that occurred a few weeks ago.
Not that I expect this to happen anytime soon, however, since, among other technical improvements, the new server has a dual drive setup with replication enabled, meaning that even in the event of a hardware failure, the remaining drive should be able to take over seamlessly. We will also be monitoring hard drive health so as to further anticipate such problems.
I know that no data was lost following that incident, but I thought I'd let you know about the measures we've taken to mitigate such risks in the future anyway.

So what you're saying is...
In all seriousness, once again, nice job in recovery Humch.
As for other events, I'd be willing to posit EdgeRabbit's liveposting of his Rayman 3 playthough. I know I was fairly involved in it at some points, so might be a mild cognitive bias on my end, but it did seem to drum up discussion and excitement seeing a fresh pair of eyes playing through the game for the first time.

Discussions like that happen all the time, but in all honesty, we have to include practically everything if Adsolution’s name change is included

Anyone find it strange that basically nothing happened this month?

I think we should include Matthias' passing on here.. since we all paid our respects and it was a pretty big deal.

Yeah, but the moderators are… a bit slow when it comes to this. I think normal members like us should get editing permissions!
Re: The Pirate-Community Documentary
I don’t think that’s possible – from what I see, phpBB doesn’t allow assigning permissions per post.Greengoop wrote: Tue Dec 10, 2024 7:38 pm Yeah, but the moderators are… a bit slow when it comes to this. I think normal members like us should get editing permissions!

Re: The Pirate-Community Documentary
Guys, please remember that we have outside lives to deal with, thanks. I've been preoccupied with something a bit personal lately so haven't checked around rpc as much. I'll add stuff when i can, don't worry.
If this is your way of asking to get on the documentary, the answer is no.Greengoop wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 7:59 am Discussions like that happen all the time, but in all honesty, we have to include practically everything if Adsolution’s name change is included![]()

Nah nah nah, I was the one being rude!
I’m already on the documentary, and no, that was just me cracking a joke about the really poor October 2012 entryThe Jonster wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 1:40 am If this your way of asking to get on the documentary, the answer is no.

Re: The Pirate-Community Documentary
Yeah, some entries are probably less relevant than others, but they're also an indication of what mattered most to the community back then, so it's always insightful in some way.

Re: The Pirate-Community Documentary
Was there a big deal at the time about ad’s name change? I just speculated that she put it on there herself to try and get an entry
